Just picked up some free pieces of wood to build the trellis. Got to love? free.

I'll check out the user you suggest. I kind of? thought about the heat idea you said, so I left the buckets where they will get a bit of shade to cool them.

Hope the trellis works, let? us know how it works out!

I cant wait to see how your potatoes go. Hopefully they? will do well for you.
By: KayakFisher01. on 04 May 12, 17:36:19
The square black bucket (chain) is a 4 gallon. It may get too hot with the solar gain for the potatoes though. If you buried the bucket a few inches underground, the roots going through the holes could pull water and nutrients from the ground. They just can't be moved around once the roots go through the holes or you will snap them. User: allotmentdiary is going for specimen potatoes so check him out. I am going to watch this potatospecialist I? see on the right.

Love growing potatoes. I would make one suggestion, which is to grow the more expensive type of potatoes that way you get more bang for your buck. By the way I will be using some of your advise on how to build a trellis for my own garden. Hopefully I can post a? video about my results. Thanks for all the advise you provide.

So...it's potato buckets at dawn then? Game on! Had I known I was going to be challenged I would have sneaked a lot more seed potaotes into my bags. However, I feel confident and, reluctant as I am to beat a young lady (and her dad) it will just have to be done. There is a huge trust issue here...I can't be trusted... so when I win even I will have suspicions about the legitimacy of my superb victory. Also, thanks for all the plugs, I'll repay that. Best? Wishes, Brendan.
