Väldigt fint sjunget av Görel Crona och Viveca Seldahl. Viveca är liksom Ernst Günther inte med längre. Ernst dog 1999 och Viveca 2001. Man minns Guldbaggegalan när Viveca hade gått bort, hur nedstämd Sven Wollter av förklarliga skäl var liksom deras son Karl. På nyårsafton förolyckades ju dessutom Per? Oscarsson som spelade Fannys pappa i filmen.

If you notice in the Disney version of Prince Caspian, we hardly see Caspian feeling happy or smiling or having fun times with the Pevensies like in the book. He is shown to be always at rivalry esp with Peter, whereas in the? book, they both agree on all decisions, cuz both believed and obeyed Aslan's guidance like in the book. Just shows how much Disney changed the story:(:(:(

I don't care what others think about this show. I love the BBC versions. They are more accurate and they contain so much more pure expression than the new versions. Without modern technology? and filiming methods, I can focus more on the message of the show, rather than the making of it. The end always brings me to tears in this movie. I am so glad that Jesus Christ is our living Aslan and I can't wait to spend eternity with Him!

You know, it actually? wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's old, yes, and the newer ones look way way better, but this one follows the book really well, except near the end it doesn't follow nearly as closely. But still it's not all that bad :) I wish they would make a modern version of all of the books though

That bit where Aslan goes on about how he's in our world as well but by another name etc, the words he uses are more or less written by CSLewis, but they're from The Dawn Treader not The Silver Chair and it's Edmund and Lucy who he tells. I've just checked. And it sounds as if he's? telling Eustace and Jill they can't return to Narnia, though they're never actually told this.

He is because he doesn't threaten anyone with burning in hell. Although I still can't wrap my head around the "deep magic" bit - who's written those cruel laws, uh, "in stone", and why is the White Bitch mentioned in it when she simply got inside Narnia by accident (and Aslan didn't do jack shit because some "stoner" wrote that they had to wait for 4 kids? to arrive? And Narnia time conveniently stretched itself into a long period of suffering for the time being... yea.

And why not write? Douglas Gresham (stepson and literary inheritor of C S Lewis) and ask how he likes it? A few people for story-teller and characters, card board figures moving along with story, one video per chapter in the books ... I think it would be likebale. And it may not count as a film version. I cannot guarantee that, though.

Well I remember read that someone sent a letter about it to Lewis, and here is his answering: "Who came at the same time? as Santa?Who is called the son of "Great King"? Who died because of humans bad acting and became back livings? Who was called a Lamb and lion?" I love how brainwashed everyone is. Forget the technological deficiencies. Technology these days is used to cover up what's most important? in a movie - it's story, characters and actors. I think people over-associate his intention that EVERYTHING he says is a comment ON religion. I think it's more about spirituality, which? unfortunately or no, has evolved to be a different quantity for some people in the world. I used to hide behind the couch as? a kid, when Barbara Kellerman's characters (Green Lady, White Witch, Old Hag) got angry. So damn scary. The White Witch doesn't scare me anymore, but I get the chills everytime i see the Lady of the Green Kirtle / Green Lady. I live in Norway, and they always used to broadcast the BBC series during the Christmas Holiday during the early 90's. Good memories. Was up every morning at 09:30 eating christmas candy and watching this. Great memories.

Alan Spalding did a really great job with the sets on this one. The exterior is sort of steam punk, while the interior of the prince's chamber is more gothic. He was the one who made the faun's cozy home as well. Take a look at his own web site for stills -- they are really nice (I didn't know about the guy myself? until I watched The Silver Chair)

But his laughter was that of an insane person ... under a spell. The problem with the? written word is that it doesn't always translate to the reader in the way the character was intended to be drawn ... so perhaps C.S. Lewis intended insanity laughter, or carefree laughter. I only think it is insane/spell laughter because I've heard a few interpretations by voice actors who performed it as such, and it felt the right tone ... so right that I didn't question it. Interesting :)

The music in these series is absolutely amazing. As for the Green Lady and her rolling R's, I seem to recall CS Lewis stating she did that in the book as well, at least in this particular? scene. And if there's a modern remake I hope Tilda doesn't play her. I've enjoyed the first three films but I agree they could've been done a lot better, especially Dawn Treader. I don't like how they made Dark Island the main focus of the plot.

I just have to say that right about now, I love England even more for making these movies so exact to the book as possible. I did not like the fact that Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the Disney version was so different. I work at Disney and we sold the contract to someone else because Prince Caspian was a failure here in the box office. I would have loved to see? the first two movies though.

Thanks! This is the essence of the books, never mind the special effects. In a stage production they would be considered magnificent. New tech doesn't always produce good films when the authors can only show war to fill the gaps of imagination, or even replace joy and dance with yet another battle. Why should the 4 children have liked to be in Narnia so much if all they ever? met there was hunger. fear and battle? Actually, Jadis and the Green Lady ARE the same lady-her near immortality is because of what happened in The Magician's Nephew. In that book Jadis shows characteristics of? both ladies-not only that, but in the book SC, she actually has more raw power than is shown in this movie.

@RoseJnr I surely hope so. Tilda is a true gem! While I understand you guys enjoy this very old version it was premature. For a TV series it is good, but with our new technology they could make it more nostalgic for those of us true to the? actual story. And someday, in the future, they will probably remake the Chronicles from beginning to end with technology that will give it its true light.

It says in the books that jadis was the first evil? to enter narnia and from that point on, evil would always exist there but evil can only enter in a different way. The same is with aslan as he can only come back in a different way each time narnia needs him.

The silver chair was always my favourite book of the? series. It seems to me the most 'fantastic' of them all. I think lewis really gets into his stride of telling a fairy story without getting hung up on ideaology.

I suspect Lewis is saying we habitually seek distraction from following our dreams,expressing our gifts. The 'signs' are inside us and all around, yet we aren't always focussing on them. You sure can have ur opinion. For me, when a storyline of a masterpiece work by one such as C.S.Lewis is spoilt just to make a movie(the disney movie), there is no point in watching? the movie. I might as well stick to the reading the Book or watching the BBC version:)

If Prince Caspian Disney Movie had been made exactly like the book it wouldn't have done good? at all. It was a very un-cinematic book so the changes were necessary. Plus the changes really kept giving you the same sense the book did. The only problem I had with it was Suspian. UGH.

I'm tall, and I live in Japan. Bumping my head happens often. I wish I was shorter. At 0:20 a dwarf bumps his head. I think the gag? was intentional. I, especially, enjoyed it. But maybe some missed it. Just thought I'd let you know about it if it went by too fast. Kittylove70 is, I think, referring to the same incident. Thanks heaps for posting these. Thanks so much for the upload! I'm so glad we have the BBC version, which is what the book also portrays. I do hope that if ever Disney remakes the Silver Chair, they will? not spoil the storyline of the book, which they've already done in Prince Caspian and VDT:(:(
