I FOUND A SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM! I googled "Test Java" (Without the qutation marks. I'm just quoting exactly what I googled.) It turns out my auto-updater couldn't tell java was 1 update behind because it ALSO was an update behind. The first link on that search? enabled me to download the updates I needed, and then I proceeded to delete the others. Try it. It says how to on a link. If it doesn't work, then I am sorry. If it does, your welcome.

I have Windows Vista hp. I try to update java but it either says there's nothing to update or the download of the files failed. I'm having a similar problem with opening minecraft only instead of the error message, nothing happens at all. I've tried all different ways of opening it, but nothing works. It's almost midnight and I'm still staring angrily at my computer screen. I've been able to open Minecraft before on? this computer, and this only happened today. If anyone knows why, please help.

Guys type in %appdata% in your search bar on? desktop and delete ".minecraft" then open minecraft and see if it works?
