- Hi, not sure if it's luck or what ? I have six Rok Stars on the go at any one time, lol. The main one is my Shiney RY4 PV (and that does take a? daily battering), but the others get quite a bit of use on any given day too, lots of different flavours to try (mainly tobacco types). But I do keep certain atomisers for certain flavours (like your menthol atty) and that does seem to help to improve atomiser lifespan & Flavour. RSR

I've not been as lucky with attys, I'm not sure if I just don't take as good care of them as you, I've been trying! :) The first 2 I got with the kit, one of them has no ears now, I'm not even entirely sure how that happened but it's been confined to the spares box now. The 2nd one is running far too hot, I think I over dry burned it. It's stuck? on my other battery as my permanent menthol atty, seems to not affect the flavour so much then!

Nice review. I`m so glad I round the Rock Star. It`s amazing compared to the first electric cigerette I tried which was a real pain. Haven`t? had a cigerette for nearly 3 months and don`t want one either!

A video about cleaning the atomiser using vodka and a dental pick/brush. This is a very effective way to clean your Rok Star atomiser, increasing the lifespan of the little atty and giving you better flavour during vaping as well. A really good alternative to performing the dreaded 'Dry Burn' and in some ways, far more effective.

I too had a completely shattered porcelain sink in one of my atties, unfortunately I could not re-use it ! It will do for spares..... Have tried the porcelain sink from a standard 510 atomiser in it's place but they are too big to fit into the atty. The older style atomisers incorporated a silicon version instead of the porcelain material, that maybe an avenue worth exploring if your sink is? beyond fixing. I cannot see the 'broken' sink being a major problem, it should work fine. RSR

Followed dis-assembly video and this video,? what I found out is the porcelain piece was shattered on one side of the wick, I cleaned out all the small shards. Do you think this will have much effect on the life-span or quality of the atty from this point on?

I agree with your sentiment about the 'over-priced' atties at Rok, that's why I decided to do the video about rebuilding them, but I must admit that they do last a very long time when you use the right E-Juice and regular dry burns and the odd vodka clean. Part two of the Rok Star / Ego 808 atomiser rebuild:
Finally managed to finish the follow on video to the 'Atomiser strip down' that I did in video #2, I used Kanthal (type A) 0.15mm resistance wire to make the coil as it had the same resistance per cm as the original coil.
Unfortunatley, youtube would not let me upload the file in as is, so it had to be cut into two parts, A & B

Ok after using it for a while i realised that i had failed. It seemed to work at first but then started wicking too fast. I am sure with some time you can make it work but i ran out of time and won't be having another attempt anytime soon. I used? 400 Standard mesh with Kanthal 32Awg gauge or .2m i think.

I have had no problems with leaks at all with this system. Hi rokstar very good video. Am waiting to buy one of these kits but everywhere is sold out at the moment :(. I bought an ego-c recently and have to say I have nothing but problems with it. Do you ever have problems with leaks on this? e cig? And also are the atomiser of a good quality? As in do they last for a reasonable amount of time. hi yes i bought the wick on the group buy on uk vapers that rawveg did. i went for the 3mm but it was about 7 strands thick .i tried 3 on the rokstar but it did not wick and that was with pg juice . i use 3 strands on my bulli a2 standard with 5 wraps of .15 kanthal wire and that works very well.great vape on? the bulli atty cheers steve

Seems a good idea when you are using very strong flavoured e-juices and are obviously worried about permanently 'tainting' your Rok Star atomiser !

Hi involverrrrr, the good thing about the Rok Star kit is the 650Mah battery,? it's smaller (obviously) than the 900mah battery, which is great for carrying around with you and can last an average vaper about 12hrs. So it really depends on your vaping needs, if you are a heavy vaper (over 8mls of E-Juice a day) I would suggest that you buy one of the kits that contains 2x 900mah batteries.
