Speed painting - Awesomely Complex Red Pepper - Oil on Canvas

I simply love the shape of this particular pepper. I chose it from a huge basket of fresh peppers. They were all great looking, but the curvy shapes of this one just blew me away, I knew I had to paint it :)

Oh yeah I've never tried doing that with single colors. Man there are so many things I learn a day just from youtube I sweat. I think it is Skye Taylor on here that said "Don't be afraid before you start a painting" because I'm a perfectionist and once I stopped trying to make everything so perfect is when things? became easier and smoother flow. Thanks for that video too I'm gonna watch that tonight

If you're working on shading, start with single color first, do grays or browns or something, not all colors - just observe? values at first. Then once you got that working a bit, you can expand from there. About the paint greed I sent you a pm ;)

man that's nut that's something you'd see in a store, shading is still something I'm trying to improve on...I've never tried oils either, all I know is they're super expensive... and I'm going to try your advice of "don't be greedy" with acrylics because it does create problems later, I am super greedy with my paint and it looks so half ass in the? end.

Nice painting! It's funny that I bought a similar pepper these days to paint it. I hope it stay fresh until I'll finish some paintings in progress... As for choosing fruits or vegetable for my paintings...I love the faces of the sellers watching me how I carefully select them :)) Is? it the same for you? Best of luck! Daniel

Speed Painting - Billiard Balls - Oil on Canvas

In this one I tested a new technique - acrylics first then oils on top. I'm not sure if it helped at all, but it certainly added a lot of time to getting this finished. I will experiment more with this approach and keep you updated.

If you look at my other Drawing vids, there is a standing offer that I will help out in any way I can, if someone sends me images of their work, for critique / advice. So if you want to get started, please place a very simple still life (some fruit next to a bottle or cup, nothing fancy, keep it simple) then draw it, on a larger format (maybe half my paper in this video)? and send me a photo. I used to. I'm starting again and learning to do it as well as I can. I'm struggling? to get going again. I've been focusing more on practicing my technique before trying to complete actual works. Drawing means a lot to me and I'd like to create the best work I can. I'm very intrigued by the exercises you've shared.

So do you want to do some painting or are you just? asking? If you want I can teach you the little I know, no problem :) First thing I'd advise, in painting, is the same task we got in school: Put a simple still life before you (a glass + bottle + some fruit maybe) and try to render those in greyscale. The catch is that you have to mix the grey out of other colors, not black + white. This will teach you a lot of things - mixing, color accuracy and drawing as well.
