I? hardly know who blaze is other than "that dude that was in iron maiden." But I think this is an awesome album. And i'm someone who hates anything that is not from the 80s. The songwriting is fucking brilliant, brutaly honest, and insightful. The lower production quality gives it a certain charm, and the songs really speak to me. Anyway, I am oficially a fan now! Congrats to Mr. Bayley for a creating a true masterpeice.

Exactly what is wrong with Blaze's band? Claudio pounds those drums and Lehmann has a stronger bass presence than David Bermudez. Admittedly Zwijsen and Neri's guitar work is not as? mindblowing as previous guitar duos on this album, but I dare any of you to listen to any of Astarte Syriaca's music and try to convincingly call Neri a bad guitarist. Anyway, most songs on this album were good, but the production is anything but. Sorry Blaze, hopefully you will have a better budget next time.

I don't find the production bad at? all. I get really sick of the sterile, Pro Tools sounding metal records (yes, I'm looking at you Andy Sneap). The guitars could use a little more presence. The production isn't as polished, no. I didn't expect it to be either, so that's maybe why I am not bothered by it. But the song standard? I find it as good as always. Simpler, but not worse. One More Step is as good? as anything he has ever done. Claudio Tirincanti is a better drummer than Larry Patterson, and so what if the guitarists doesn't live up to Walsh and Bermudez, or Slater and Wray - their performance isn't bad by any means and they stay within their limits.

This is exactly what I thought the first time I heard it! It is kinda about the same thing, no doubt, inspired heavily by Life & Death! It has to be, I can just feel it and it even sounds of? it. I love this song and it helps me everytime to keep going when things get rough or I get crazy or depressed or want to cry, and that, to just be able to feel good again when you were not able to, just from hearing a song, is bad ass. There was not enough money to sustain a full band and fly them around the world while touring. I believe Blaze fired them because he wanted to tour USA, but with cheaper local musicians, which understandably upset the band as they wrote most of the previous two albums. I understand? why this happened, but such a shame - they were my favourite band and Blaze's voice was a perfect match for their music.

And I? really do love Blaze. Seen the guy live and got my photo taken with him and everything, so I'm not some biased 'Bruce Dickinson forevar' guy. As a musician, this album disappoints me, and as a listener, it leaves me feeling unfulfilled. So there's my opinion! A little harsh maybe, but people have opinions. I personally don't understand why more than half of the people who have commented on here and his Facebook have somehow enjoyed it, but people can enjoy the strangest things

I'm incredibly disappointed with it, to? be brutally honest. I think it's a huge step down from every one of his last albums and it's really a shame. There are some good moments on the album, but they never quite make me go "FUCK YEAH" or anything. The only track I genuinely feel something for is One More Step, because it's something a little different and Blaze's vocals are, for the most part, good. His vocals and the rest of the instruments in the album are bland and generally meh.

The only songs that actually stand out and keep me interested are One More Step, Beginning and Difficult. In a lot of the songs,? the general structure seems boring and unimaginative. With BLAZE, there were some good riffs, but it was mostly driven by melody via guitar and vocals. With the Blaze Bayley band, it was more riff orientated and made for some more interesting backdrops for Blaze's vocals to sit in snugly beside. But with The King Of Metal, the spark is lacking.

This is ear-excrutiatingly terrible. If you're going to do a 'naked' song where your voice has to carry the tune, you might want to make sure you have the voice to do it first. Several moments of going completely off-key, a voice that sounds raspy and worn, pretty unmemorable songwriting, and overdone,? fake vibrato = hilarity for all. This is unintentionally hilarious.

I just want to say that you really, really have to give this album 4 or 5 listens before it really? sinks in. Admittedly, it's nowhere near as good as Promis and Terror, but there are some genuinely awesome moments on it. I'll admit I very nearly put it on the 'destined to gather dust' pile after the first listen, but I persisted and I'm glad I did/ Definitely his weakest solo album, but still full of somemighty metal moments!

I love Ki and really enjoyed listening to this! These commentaries? are amazing, I knew Devin puts a lot of work into his songs and albums but it's really impressive when he actually explains how much work was put in. Brilliant guy.
