The original album has a rawer mix. If you listen to songs at the end, Wake Up Dead, Peace Sells. The version of Devil's Island is unlistenable. All the background vocal growls are replaced with more shouts then growls. A lot of Dave's vocals are really thin on? the remaster. Listen to an original vinyl version, then listen to the remixed version and you will notice the difference on Devil's Island.

The reissue LPs are all digitally-sourced, which means they're basically the same as the heavily-compressed CD remasters. If you're looking to score Megadeth on vinyl (who who doesn't?) then you need to find the original LPs from the '80s and '90s. Also, track down the MOFI reissue of Countdown to Extinction; that should? be an excellent vinyl, but it runs around $40. Good luck!

Actually, the remastered LP's are just 96 khz digital masters that are cut to vinyl. CD's are 44.1khz, which are only about half as good. The LP will still sound better than the cd, and? even the 96 khz digital recording. And I do agree that the originals sound the best. It sounds like you are there! I just purchased this album today. Thank you for this video, it is awesome!

I wasn't much of a "fan" of theirs, but I did have this album during my high school years (class of '88). Of all the songs, this one? hit the right spot. Stripped of all the effects, their acoustic sounded like good 60's folk music, kind of like the intro of Velvet Underground and Nico "Banana Peel" album. But that blaring feedback and electric brash is alchemy to the soul. Their other song like this for me was titled "Hit." Seems like a long time ago, but the music still works wonders.
