She doesn't seem very impressed by Stan's courtship display, poor Stan. His snood (the long thing hanging down) doesn't seem to be doing the trick. He does this display all day long and she rarely lets him near her! If I'd have known how efficient it was I'd have bought 3 or 4 of them. I put it outside last week and it was full of wasps there are so many wasps this year. Video duration: 19 seconds Our little broody hen and her 7 chicks enjoying a dust bath in some compost I put in an old meat roasting tin. Lucky she doesn't know what it used to be used for ! Hens love to dust bathe and compost or even sawdust makes a good substitute when dust is scarce. The hens are often to be found in the garage "dustbathing" where we saw the logs up for the fire.
