Yeah they really did an amazing job in this episode of taking the incredibly powerful character that everyone hates and fears and turning him in to a normal guy that you actually kind of feel sorry for. They gave so? much depth to the character in just one episode

Good point! I'd like to add my two cents: This scene has a philosophical meaning as well. Here the CSM proves that you can be one of the most powerful men on this planet and to know things that 99.999% of the people don't know but if the world doesn't believe you or take you seriously, that power means nothing! In a way, he's no different than the bum. The bum is a nobody but CSM is a nobody too because? nobody takes his writing or himself for that matter seriously.
