I wanna see em man! I wanted a 4 track like you have but never found the right one. Have you ever plugged it into a Soundcraft Spirit mixer?? Should be? cool. Oh and another thing if you get a chance to look at the Carmine Appice book titled "realistic Rock" it's worth it. You're all ready really good but it's got some way cool useful stuff in it. just rambling....

By: uberpirox. on 06 Jun 11, 17:14:03
Hi? Julio I only used 1 microphone for this recording, the position is picture at 03:55 in the video. It was just behind me and slightly to the right, pointing to the centre of the snare roughly. Thanks

Your playing so? thunderous! This solo is really just brilliant. Your feel is mesmerizing and I really like how you're digging in those bass drum and snare hits. For a entry level drum kit (as you said in an earlier comment) you've made it sound really good. The whole kit has a great vintage vibe. BEST drum solo I've heard in a long time!

By? the way, what sticks are you using?
By: grajdrums. on 02 Dec 10, 12:42:17
Yeah well, would that I could, our local music store doesn't even sell Vater sticks, so what can I say about testing cymbals. Anyways, I couldn't agree more with you about the GB's - perfection. The 2002's - universal, but way too energetic. Thanks for the tips, really useful:? )
By: uberpirox. on 02 Dec 10, 02:16:39
Of course it's all down to your personal preference though, and perhaps 2002 may be better suited to a different style of playing or genre of music! I like the mellow texture of my giant? beats, washy or concise as I like depending on how i play them. Listen to some sound samples on the Paiste website, or more preferably go and listen to some in person before dropping a few hundred on a cymbal! Cheers.
By: uberpirox. on 02 Dec 10, 02:13:35
Hey man, firstly as long as you position the cymbal correctly and not too steep or shallow an angle (that is to say, you shouldn't be directly hitting the edge, but shouldn't be smashing it with the tip either) then you will never break a cymbal,so long as you have a decent stand & some felts? as well. I've had my Giant beat cymbals for probably around 2 or 3 years now, a 24 and a 18 and they are by far my favourite cymbals, 2002s are just too sharp sounding for me!

Hi again. First of all, awesome drumming, as always: ) Second, I want to hear your opinion about the Giant Beat cymbals. I've been trying to decide whether should I buy the 2002's or the GB's for quite a? while now. I use heavy sticks (Vic Firth Metal 2A), but I don't tend to bash too much, and I rarely use shoulder. What sticks are u using, and do you hit damn hard or what? Would you say that the GB's would crack if put under my command, so to speak? Thanks in advance.

Hahaha, you better not be making a mockery of my beloved? SPEED king!! :P You don't want to know what these drums are.. they are awful.. "Active" brand.. some kind of beginner / introductory level drum kit.. Remo Coated ambassadors on everything at this point as I remember and an Ebony Powerstroke 3 Kick head. I think the small tom is a 13 x 10 (Fairly sure).. 16 x 16 tom and 22 x 16 kick.. 14 x 5 cheap ass snare that was included with this kit also! Thanks for the king words :)
