I just can't believe people always criticizing Stars choreography. If they were so bad, they wouldn't pull first overalls at almost every competition. Sure,? there is lots of extensions but they are showcasing the dancers strengths. Jessi is BEAUTIFUL. Her emotion is unreal. So stop hating until I see you do something better stfu.

I have to agree about the extensions as well. The choreography is all extensions and leg work she barely even moves from one spot. I also don't understand how they're supposed to be a contemporary studio with barely any "contemporary" choreography. Contemporary/modern is an actual dance form, if you go take a real modern? or contemporary class anywhere else you do an actual dance not just an adagio with some emotion in it.

Tbh: victor and? angel reallly know how to bring out the emotion in a dancer, which is what Jessi totally exhibited in this piece. I do, however, agree with a lot of the choreo comments about extensions. They went waaaay overboard with those. I mean, they have some amazing potential and they're spending it all on extensions and arabesques when they should be more diverse since the kids have the talents to do more amazing stuff, like oh idk, LEAPS. just my thoughts lol

I love how she's always in the moment. I like her intensity and the size of her body on stage is very powerful. I wish they? didn't always have her rolling around on the floor. I know a lot of dancers are really skinny...but is she okay? Really pretty dancer, a fabulous dance, but she doesn't look healthy...not only her ribs but almost every bone, even in her arms and legs. I only say this out of concern, I hope for her sake? that I am wrong and she is just naturally that skinny and still eats well.

I think that was in someway the goal of this dance though. To make the audience aware of an issue like cancer that many people feel uncomfortable discussing. But just because it is an uncomfortable topic does not mean it should be ignored, this is reality for many patients and I think we all need to realize that. I think this dance did a? good job of making us aware of how a patient might feel.

I usually don't love group dances because I always feel? like emotion is lost in a sea of attempted technical tricks. But this is pure artistry. The prop is brilliant, Shannon choreographed WITH the music, not just to the music. And there isn't a costume in the world that would have complemented this dance better than those beautiful red dresses. Simply breathtaking!

From one qualified teacher/choreographer to another I say stop being so elitist. You are obviously the kind of person who believes that there is only one kind of dance education style that can be brilliant. There are styles unlike what this young lady does that are also brilliant. Look at a choreographer like Kate Jablonski, who puts very few traditional techniques in her dances yet still creates? dynamic stories. But you seem dismissive of anything that isn't your style of choreography.

No "actual dancing?" There's jetés, there's a Baryshnikov, there's chainés, there's beautiful turns with controlled, graceful landings. I? am so sick of technique snobs acting like a dance is worthless because they put in a few extensions. You can't tell me this girl doesn't have impeccable technique. So she's more jazz/lyrical than straight ballet. I'm sure she's a fine ballet dancer too. There's more than one genre of dance. Get over it.

I would argue that Sophia has a bit of an edge. They're? both technically great (I think Sophia's technique is a little better) and have good emotional execution, but Sophia has longer limbs which make her lines better. Also, I don't think Maddie's choreography does her justice sometimes.
