As an American, I'm wondering the same thing. Our measurements are stupid and the fact we don't tend? to acknowledge it is stupid. Makes it a pain in the ass to do precise things and it ended up destroying at least one space probe. BUT NO! We think it's "too difficult" to learn metric and throw out accusations of "socialism" whenever something as radical as changing our measurement system is proposed. I hate it, and I'd MUCH rather use Metric, FYI.

We wonder the same thing. The Metric system a huge pain. Trying to go by mm instead of inches for? everything doesn't work out too well. It is like taking little baby steps. KM is an odd measurement for mileage. Why? The mile is 5,280 feet. The kilometer? Equal to one thousand meters. That's a ridiculous way to measure it. Kilogram? 1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds. So every time a kilogram is mentioned, for every 5kg, that's an additional pound. We just say 2 pounds and are done with it.

If you saw the full episode you'd know that two cars hitting head on, both moving? at 50mph does the same damage to both cars as one car going 50mph hitting a brick wall (NOT 100mph worth of damage). Reason being: both cars hitting each other are both absorbing roughly equal amounts of impact force (if they are the same car). Each car has a crumple zone (the front end) that absorbs the impact.

@elimdeyonkersny They werent part of Prince's groups but were formed by Mark Brown who was the bass player for the purple one. They were all from local mpls groups that played the local circuit. They were hand picked by Mark for his project. Its a shame they never made it past the first album. You're right random youtube guy I should know you're a pitcher... Anyways. Maybe most major league pitchers throw their 4 seamer at max effort, but if you've watched any of Verlander's starts the past couple years it's obvious that his 1st inning fastball is much faster than his fastball in the 7th, 8 th, or 9th. The reason I said that Chapman "has" to go to his hard stuff on a more regular basis? is because he doesn't have the array of pitches that Verlander does. Chapman is a bad dude though.

Well dumbass, Verlander can do it at any time also, but it's called "pitching" not throwing. "Pitching" involves changing speed and location as to confuse your opponent so they don't know what is coming next. If necessary he can break 100 but why show the business when you don't have to. Chapman has to Verlander does not.?

Hell, maybe Nolan Ryan was really 103 at the plate. Who knows. No one will really know for certain who threw harder. My point was actually supporting the case that Nolan Ryan threw harder. Assuming the guns when he played weren't off by more? than 3-4 mph, he'd still be throwing somewhere between 104-108 on today's gun readings. And if the 100.9 mph recording is accurate, then he'd be throwing atleast 106 or 107 on today's gun.

Because, it's still not certain exactly how accurate the guns were when Nolan was pitching. It's not like that was SO long ago, but nonetheless they were less accurate. They did indeed record it at the plate, but how accurate they would be compared to a gun recording at the plate today, no one really knows. Even if? Nolan Ryan & Aroldis measured 101 at the plate, Aroldis' would be a more reliable number, regardless of whether or not Ryan's number is higher or lower than what it really was.

Yeah here in the US train crash into cars & trucks regularly at crossings, if our P42's w/Superliners crashed into cars & trucks at 100mph it would be devastating! The accidents are pretty bad from 60-79mph, plus Superliners would be scary at their top rated speed, now where we don't have grade crossings & have electrification trains go from 100 to 150 mph depending on whether its Amtrak or a commuter train. Just depends? on what you break or bend. Most of them make their own axles and other running gear so that is pretty cheap. As long as you don't break the chassis plate usually not much. I rolled my rail at over 80 it was a nitro so much heavier it stood straight up then veered over and rolled down the side wall ripping it to pieces and breaking it in half. That one was pretty much a total write off. Team Walbern is a good site to check out. There are more.

And we never found the wheelie bar. There was a concrete cover over a big sewer or something at the end of the track in the left lane. The track actually curved just a bit at that point and it was far enough from the traps you were usually slowed down. However my throttle stuck one? time and the car buried itself under that concrete cap dug a big hole and basicall exploded. Tiny pieces everywhere. I think it was 78mph when it went through the traps and was still accelerating.

Where I live, there is a nice classic car wrecking yard nearby. The state is giving his static about all the wrecks? sitting around. The old muscle cars lack air bags, anti-lock disc brakes,? sometimes even seatbelts. They mostly have carbs instead of fuel injection, don't have catalytic converters, and usually get a max of 20 mpg. These sins will possibly make the old muscle cars illegal by 2020, at least in the USA. The only way you will be able to drive them is load them onto a trailer and haul them to meets or tracks. I have heard from a good ol' boy that 2020 is the end, a rumour that could be true. Check into it, guys.

The brakes are designed to evenly distribute deceleration forces among the 4 wheels, while if you engine brake its all on the rear wheels(in this case), witch might be bad in cretin situations. I see what you're saying, I know whenever I let off the gas after a hard pull while staying in gear there is a rough "negative" pull, so to say(engine brake). I figure less stress on the drive line when you throw in the clutch and coast, rather than just cut? the throttle and let your rear diff, drive shaft, tranny, and clutch take the negative load of the engine.........

He could have left the car in 3rd? or even downshifted to use the engine to slow the car and less brake. I love this engine and car. I have one so I know it well from ordinary life.? I have S80 T6 with 285hp and It´s very polite car for everyday. Much important than acceleration from 0-100kmh(0-60mph) is average acceleration, which is almost brutal. Especially with BSR or Heico.

Lots of manufacturers do this sort of thing. I think you seriously underestimate how much power 300hp is. It's an incredible amount of energy and to make a? transmission that can take that kind of load would be unwieldy and wouldn't fit in this FWD engine bay. If you want a car that doesn't torque limit you, then get the M/T version of the car. M/T are built much stronger anyway...

i hate it when people make zip line as an amusement, there's a? whole village in south america where their only access out of the mountains to food and markets are from one zip lines. it would take them days to walk by foot. even children are carrying their sibling with bags like supplies to hold on their life. dont expect safety there

Is it fair to say that this sound is/was a precursor to the New Jack Swing sound? I think so. Even in terms of Andre Cymone and that sound he carved for Jody Watley's "Looking for a New Love" (which really continued Jam and Lewis' of the Dance/R&B/Pop craze trend of the 80s), the majority of 80s R&B's "sound" came in some way, shape, or form from under Prince's umbrella. Even The System...I believe their? innovations with Synths was heavily influenced by what Prince was doing too at the time.

This song was such a breath of fresh air in 86. I particularly like the line, theres a misconception that everything is one the one. This basically summed up Prince's contribution to funk music. He kept his beats? and notes, slightly off the one in the early days. So funky that groups like Ebony Webb and the Barkay's got done with it.
