bios boot ~6 seconds, wow. go to flag --> run --> msconfig. and lower the time windows searches for disks from 15 to like 3, remove alot of unnecessary startup programs (search google for? what they do), services, and you can remove the flag on the boot screen to just black with a loading bar on the bottom (similar to vista). Im almost 100% sure if you tinker with the settings, you can get this beast to cold boot in under 15seconds!!

As an added bonus, other laptop's components? stay cool, which means no cooling pad required. My brother's 15" MacBook Pro, on the other hand, somewhat relies on a cooling pad.

From my experience, I don't see any changes in gaming performance. All laptops do get hot when playing games, but in comparison, the Vaio Z is cool. The hot air blowing from the vent is a good sign that the laptop does a great job of dissipating heat from the processor? and GPU chip, because the fan spins at a higher rpm. Also, I checked the temperature of the laptop with GPU-Z program; under intense gaming, it does not go above 85 degrees C, which is typical for GPU chips.

The keyboard surface gets warm playing intense games like Modern Warfare 2. The right side of the computer stays cool. The only hot area is the air blowing out of the left side of the computer where the fan is. When surfing internet or checking e-mail, the whole laptop stays so cool, your legs would thank you. As for fan noise, it does become noticeable when it is on full blast, but other than playing intense software or? games, the laptop is relatively quiet.

i play it at my msi u270 with more or less the same hardware (amd apu e450) with arround 25 fps with hd-textures and fancy graphic. but i suppose the 2gig ram is limiting the system performance. in my honest opinion: best u can get for 349? (don´t? know in $ maybee 400)
