Neurologists from Yale to Stanford, unfortunately,? are in fact using Parkinson's medication to treat Tourette (such as Levadopa and Carbidopa). Tourette and Parkinsons are similar in that both affect Dopamine levels in the brain. However medication used to treat Parkinsons can have horrendous side effects on a person with Tourette (it happened to me) so my opinion is that medication for Parkinson's should NEVER be used to treat Tourette, unless you enjoy visiting the ER.

On impact you would be either torn in? half or have crusing internal injuries which would probably result in death. Its just a way of not being invisible you know? Because if you totally ignore I feel like what Im going through doesnt matter. Mainly I have to? be very very careful about how stressed I allow myself to get, and I ahve to take my medication and do relaxation and such. I use tightening of consecutive muscle groups in my body as a way of holding/subverting. I have tic attacks as a result of the holding, but it is helpful at times. I once saw a documentary about? Tourette's back on Discovery Health when we still had satellite. Before I didn't really know much about it other than that it was a cursing disease or something.. I saw this Scottish kid who was just ticking constantly. Since I sometimes get very infrequent tics every once in a while, I knew a little about the discomfort they cause, I felt horrible for him. I am 14 years old,? and my tourettes started developing when I was seven years old, and I still have it today. People with tourettes (including me) are people too. While I thank people for their sympathy and kind words, I don't want people to feel sorry for me. I also have OCD and epilepsy. Not many people know about tourettes, so there are many misconceptions. This is a great video and made me feel very hopeful:)

It just dawned on me yesterday that I have Tourette's. I'm 31 years old, and have always made a clicking sound with my tongue when I feel even the slightest bit anxious. Thanks for making the video, to help illustrate that tourette's isn't limited to spontaneous cussing, like people who make fun of the disorder might believe.?

Hi, I also have tourette's, I have had it since i was 11 and i am now 31, I just wanted to let you know one thing, I have been on several medicine's? for it and it was like trial and error.. So if the first one dosent work for you, go back and let your doctor know. Some of the med's they tried actually made the tourettes worse. I have the arm movements, head movements, clearing of the throat to the point where i almost vomit, and many more. Thanks for the great vid, and good luck Deb :)

that video was really good :) i'm 16 and my tourettes started at 14 my tics include punching out, shaking/nodding my head and full-body sezure like tics. i also have squeaking and throat clearing Tourettes also gave me ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety and post traumatic? stress. I have Tourette's syndrome (my channel is for helping others understand the condition). I think coprolalia is pronounced 'cop-ro-lay-lee-yeh'. The 'Gilles' in Gilles de la Tourette is French and is pronounced, I believe, 'jee' with the 'j' being pronounced like the 's' in 'treasure'.? It's pronounced more like 'jeey', with a 'y' at the end because it changes sound slightly at the end as if one was going to add another syllable beginning with a 'y'. hi. firstly well done on the weight loss. i have made an appointment to see my doctor as i think i have tourettes. i am 27 and it all started when i was? around 5. so hopefully i should be on the ay to sort it out. mine are phsical(arms legs head and face) and vocal tics (throat clearing) although they do change. just wanted to thank you for the video as there is so much fake stuff here on youtube and just people swearing. i might even make a video about it, will see how it goes.
