It runs iLife pretty well. My buddy actually installed VM Fusion on it and runs Windows XP off a USB hard drive and it seems to work pretty well. I've also installed iWork 09 on it and it runs pretty well also. I haven't tried any other Mac software tho. But if you're thinking about doing any kind of gaming on this forget it not nearly powerful enough to do it. This is really for web browsing, emailing, web cam? stuff, and some light word processing and spreadsheets.

This is a bit more complicated, but what you need to do is use a program in Ubuntu called gParted, which will allow you to manually delete the Windows partition. After doing so, resize the Ubuntu partition until it fills the entire hard drive. Afterwards, you may want to update GRUB? settings, as the choice for Windows XP will still be in the menu. (and have no function) I would search around on the internet before doing this, as this process carries a lot of risks if not done right.

Thanks for the compliment! Regarding your question: The ability to boot from an SD card is dependent on your computer's BIOS. Once you get into the BIOS, find something related to the "boot order" in the menus. The devices listed here (Hard Disk, USB, Network, etc.) are the only ones you can boot from. If the SD card reader is? in this list, then move it to the top and proceed! If not, I'm afraid you'll need to grab a USB stick.

As it is, it's ok, and fast, for web browsing and simple applications, but with a desktop OS you are supposed to be able to edit video, use audio sequencers, work on a 3D, or play complex games... Great review. I've watched a bunch of these now looking for a netbook, and this white nc10 is my firm favourite. MIght have a go upgrading one to 2gb and then experiment dual booting with windows 7, which seems to work just great in some other vids. I had this samsung nc10 for over 7 months now and the performance if this netbook doesn't dissapoint. I can't say the same for the built quality. The outer shell of this netbook is not as sturdy as other netbooks like Dell, Lenovo, and even Acer. The worst thing about this? netbook is the cheap fake chrome accent that was falling a part after 7 month of my wear and tear.

Many thanks for the review I've now bought my Samsung NC10 in white I'm delighted with it. One little point I'd like to pass on, the keys towards the right handside instead of producing the lettter U, I,? O, P etc on the top line your get 4 5 6 and J on second line produces fig 1, 2,3 etc. The correct letters can be reinstated by presing the Fn key simultaneously with the F11 key. Hope this helps. Wiki only lists the Win 9x collecters series (released in 1998 BTW) as a box set. But my Tie Fighter was bought stand alone and is definitely that version. (you can even go into the? CD file and play the .wav file of the looping in game music)

After the Collectors CD rom editions they releaced the "Collectors Series" versions which wer Windows 95 compatable and changed the cutscenes to newer 3D rendered ones, switched to the V-WIng Vs Tie Fighter engine, and replaced the iMUSE with looping Red Book audio. (iirc the actual CD files apear as Tie95 and XWing95) I have Tie 95 and it really does lacks some of? the feel. (I've considered getting the DOs CD version) I have the 1994 Dos X-Wing CD version which is great.

Btw: What's the thing with X-Wing and Tie Fighter? What Win9X version are you talking about? Newest versions I know are the "collector's cd-roms" that aren't really compatible with windows and they are featuring MIDI music only, so it's dynamic as well. Or are you maybe talking of "X-Wing vs Tie Fighter"? I never really played that one except the demo but yeah, that game was? windows compatible and featured audio music that (I think) wasn't dynamic anymore.

Well, I can definitely tell you that the Saga editions of WC 1 & 2 do feature audio music (it's on HD, not streamed from CD), and it's exactly handled like the original one. So it's dynamic and does change during the missions just like in the original games. I am absolutely sure about it because I have been playing the game like ten hours ago. Only thing I don't know is if the original addon? (secret missions) can be combined with the Saga version - haven't tried so yet.

Thanks, the Saga version seems like the best to get. Too bad it's danm expensive now. (The SNES version seem to be the only cheaply available, though the Floppy version isn't too expensive on eBay) Then again, the Saga version may have modifications to the in game music converting the Midi to CD audio and Win9X compatibility. Elliminating the interactive music like what unfortunately happeded with the Win95 version of X-Wing and Tie Fighter. Then again, the Origin people may have cared? more.

Yea, I never understood people's beef with Vista for being slow. I ran it on a 1.8Ghz single core processor, with 768MB of RAM, and it ran and multi-tasked MUCH better than XP for me. I loved it! So to be quite honest, I'm not surprised at the performance you? got. A lot of people just seem to have jumped on the bandwagon without experiencing Vista first-hand. Now that you've had it for a while, what do you think??

Imagine a game like original Serious Sam 1. Split-Screen PC game. Two mouses(or wiimotes) one for each player LOL.

I'm getting this netbook soon. Current Laptop, Acer 14.1IN, 1GB, 160GB HDD. Quite old, bought from Courts($899). I saw this Lenovo Model at Courts just now with my mate, didn't get the chance to ask one of the staffs, to get more details but,? Kinda .. 'into' the model itself.
