Can anyone? tell me how to format an external hard drive to "FAT32". I got an external hard drive, and when I plugged it into my PS3, it didn't recognise it. I bought mine last year when it came out and in the time I've had it? its broken down once, the hard drive randomly corrupted itself one day, could have just been a very unlucky fluke but ever since its been fine although I barely play on it. I must say though at first it is whisper quiet but then it gets just as noisy as the previous one was after a bit of use.

If you have a newer version of an xbox 360 (2009+) it should automatically do it, as most consoles from that date already have the data in its system files. Just plug? it into your HDD and the 360 will detect it.

I was in the same boat as you till today. What transfer cable are you using? I ask because I was using the older (greyish green) transfer cable and that didn't recognise my hard drive either (Big, fat, old, 20gb). Anyway I just bought the new (black) transfer cable today, attached my old hard drive? to my new slim via transfer cable and it worked perfect first time.

this sucks, for a start you need the right hard drive a 250gb wd specific? model, and they cost around the same price as the official hard drive for 360, there really is no point doing this hack, i say either just buy the pre hacked one which is £10 cheaper than official, or just buy an official for reassurance.
