I think what you mean is that by increasing differential pressure, you increase velocity, thereby increasing resistance to flow; viscosity is? more of a function of temperature than pressure and resistance to flow is more of a function of velocity (among other things).

It wouldn't matter if the engine was 100% efficient. Unless all the energy was going to run the engine it would use up its energy. Engines do work by moving objects. Energy is used up in moving(or trying to move) the object so it can't be used to run the engine. If it was, the engine wouldn't go anywhere because the energy used for moving the? object would be running the engine. The 2nd law has to do with an isolated system which I don't think a jet engine could be considered.

The air is mixed with the fuel for combustion(a controlled explosion) just like a piston aircraft or car.The air is compressed so more energy is released when the air is combusted. It is also important to keep high pressure at the front of the engine to keep it from flaming out and? allowing the combusted fuel from coming through the front of the engine. Also remember some of the air's energy is used to actually turn the turbine that compresses the air,so some of the energy isn't used for thrust

What? Are you joking? Energy can't be created or destroyed. It can change form though. A force would spin the disk. Energy is used to create the force(a FORCE can be? created or "applied"). Energy is USED(not created) again to create an equal force to stop the disk spinning. I am not sure what mechanism causes the disk to spin or stop so I can't say exactly how the energy is used. But a thing will spin or move at constant velocity forever until something else messes with it(including friction)

Jeriellisworth, I noticed there are so much of cost-saving design in most DRO oscillator, particularly in some low-cost radars. There is actual Gunn diode in a Radio Shack car radar, but still it's surprising compared to the compexity of the entire circuit... And you're correct, DRO isn't straightforward to design? - Capacitance, Inductance and Resistnce do work together / against each other within circuit necessary to send and receive Microwave. It has to resonate or it won't work.

Embossing powder and velvet flock powder are two different things. The flocking will give more of a texture similar to velvet and it is raised. Embossing powder does give? a raised effect, but depending on the powder you use, can be smooth, glossy, bumpy or matte or a combination. Sounds like for what you are doing you may want to use flock powder. Hopefully that helps.

Is embossing powder the same as the velvet flock powder, becuase I am wondering if embossing gives a smooth riased 3d effect. I am soon makeing disney Rapunzels dress based on thelimited edition Rapunzel doll & the fabric has this deep Purple smooth velvet vine pattern on the Satin skirt, the effect is a raised 3d effect pattern on the surface of the fabric. Embossing powder will stick to? any ink that stays wet long enough for you to get the powder onto the stamped image. It will not need to be sealed as long as you melt the powder.

Hi! I didn't know that you could heat embossing? using regular pigment ink and embossing powder. What is the chemistry between the two products when this is done? I've always known pigment ink to be very chalky and rub off if not sealed. I am assuming that sealing it with the embossing powder will delete that type of issue; however, how does the embossing powder stick to the pigment ink? thanks!

Down here in New Zealand we have a thing called an? Anti static pad - which is pretty much a little material bag with i believe corn startch or corn flour in it...which helps with reducings the amount of embossing powder sticking to the paper in areas that arent inked :o)

What about this explanation: the thermite releases heaps of light (ir and visible) radiation. This goes? into the ice, and since all the bubbles in ice are in the middle, it heats up the middle of the ice blocks. This is a video explaining how I made my LTD (low temperature difference) stirling engine. I made the engine in the school workshop over the past couple of months. This is a really simple yet effective engine, that is supposed to run on the heat from your hand, but my engine requires about 40oC to get going. My piston has been compromised as I attempted to use a leather gasket. I've been told that I could make the piston out of metal with a graphite tape ring. Excellent video! I think all graphite parts can be replaced with metal ones, and the graphite could serve as a lubricant. All you need is to use soft pencil (2B, 4B) and? fully cover the cylinders from inside, pistons and all other parts where friction occurs. If somebody is willing to test this please share your results. It could cause the necessity to repeat the graphite cover from time to time, while original solution is permanent, but probably more difficult to complete.

Seeing that the graphite is hard to come by but needed to help with friction, have you considered maybe a white metal alloy of possibly tin and lead, since they are readily available? Hi there fom the midlands of England. Thought I'd give my grass clippings your wiremesh treatment to keep much from my compost bin. I only have a small English back garden whichmeans I don't have lots of clippings. After 2 weeks it had reduced in size and I mowed the lawn again. Mixed the 2 sets of clippings together. After 2 more weeks it had reduced in size and I put my next mowing in with it.? Not having had much sun, the pile never got warm. But at least the mess is not in my compost bin!

The one thing that you should be careful of is using grass clippings where a "weed and seed" product has been used. The residual herbicides (atrazine in particular) in the grass do not break down in the composting process and you end up with? compost that will kill some of the plants in your garden and trees. Best thing to do is not use non organic herbicides.

There are so many interpretations of what is organic. I wouldn't worry at all about composting whatever mowed grass, vegetable and fruit scraps you might have (I do). No harm will come of it regardless of whether they were raised organic or not. Some people will cry foul but then? again there are people who wear tin foil hats and think the government is probing them in thier sleep with pencils made on Mars.

Easy to build a water filter.... Need - Muslin cloth, sand, crushed charcol, large plantpot with hole in bottom, something to catch the water, maybe some bricks. Place plant pot on bricks, place water catcher under hole, place in clloth into pot and up the sides as? one sheet, put alternate layer, starting with sand, of sand, charcol, sand charcol, up to 3/4s of the way up the pot.... Add your water and wait.... Boil whatever catches in your catcher pot.... Cheap simple and works!!!

I appreciate you taking the trouble to make and share this helpful and informative video but I like to respectfully point out one flaw that can possibly hurt you and your family. The top/lid of the bottom bucket can collect spilled untreated water and funnel it into and contaminate the filtered water. It would be safer if? the top bucket was larger in diameter than the bottom bucket thus mitigating any chance of cross contamination.

Hey, thanks for this...I have been watching Atmospheric water generators selling for big bucks...I decided to take this idea and add it with another idea I had...I hooked up my dehumidifier to drain into this system...Using the water from the air and filtering it through this system I am getting virtually free water...very slow proccess, but once the bucket is pretty much filled with clean water, there is plenty - The Ph balance isn't bad but minor after taste,? maybe needs another filter??

Also, is there a website to find conversion tables for chlorine tables instead of using Clorox bleach because clorox bleach goes bad in really a short period of time, so you may not know the proper amount to use after so many months and if it still works??. With chlorine tablets you can use it to make bleach? water and it will be pure at the time of mixture and you'll then know how long it will really be good for. The tablets last a LONG TIME too.

Now I'm not going to try and convince anyone that bleach is good for us, but, the active ingredient in bleach? is Sodium Hypochlorite and over time it just turns back into salt water. That is the reason that Clorox Bleach has such a short shelf life. 8 to 16 drops of bleach will mostly disenfect 1 gallon of water. If the water is really scary looking.... You Should Boil It.

Yes Brother you should use chlorine or some other purifier after filtering. Or as MrBajaFun so rudely put it, boil it. It's really a two stage process. Filtering will remove particulates but not the microscopic little buggers that can make you really sick and unable to defend? yourself and those you love. If you were in the wild you could even use the UV rays of the sun to kill microbes in the water. Any way you do it Filter the Water & Kill the Bugs before you consume the water when possible.

Hi...... I have never had any issues with the belt at all. I use a Power Twist belt. It was recommended when I was building? the sander. I was a bit skeptical, but it works great! Isn't it always a good idea to let the joins stick out a bit? Both the tails and slots in this case.. You could always sand them down, but you can't sand them up if you made them to small ; ) I Just? love this machine! Your other creations are great too, but this one is.. Just.. Amazing! Thanks for the reply Donald, I really should have figured these out myself. My tomatoes didn't fair too well last year, think it is just too cold in Scotland to get them without a proper green house. Three main reasons; The first is the water comes out much more slowly so it soaks into the root zone and doesn't run off into the middles. The second is I know exactly how much water each plant is getting. The third is I can add measured fertilizer to each plant. It's like a drip irrigation system with no waste / little expense and it doesn't get in the way when? doing weed control.....Donald

The unit holds almost a gallon of water and it takes between 15-20 minutes to drain out. Because it is 2' tall...you could drive by and fill with your golf cart and water tank! I also drilled several 1/64 holes in the cap for air flow. The total cost of mine is $3.50 ea. I appreciate? all your videos!

Donald, Thank you for the idea. I went to? buy material to make some of these. I ended up using 3" sewer and drain pipe with a 3" Test Caps in each end. The pipe was $10.48 per 10' joint and the test caps were 0.70cents each. I cut the bell off the pipe and then cut the pipe to 23 1/4 inches. One joint of pipe makes 5 tubes.Because the test caps don't fit tightly in the S&D pipe I glued it really good on one end. The cap at the other serves as a cap. I drilled the 1/64 hole 2" from bottom.
