The reason is, on breadboards each pin spot isn't actually a single female pin. It's actually a continuous piece of metal with a "clamshell" opening on the top. If a jumper is put into a female pin it can move freely inside of that? column. To get a better understanding of what I'm trying to explain, google clear breadboard. You will find it more helpful.

The last few weeks, I've been really into the idea to make my own MIDI-controller, and I've loved the thought of just adding an accelerometer to control some crazy effects and make people go? "wait whaaaaat?" when playing live. Although I always have a lot of things going on and doing this I don't know how to do, I've been putting this off, 'cause I kinda suck at soldering and feel really insecure about the whole process of how to put the electronics together.
