Ok. So I could direct you to a few books if you're interested in learning about when the change from African to African American occurred. You are both right and wrong. Right:? I can see how you could think that as you've only know America. Wrong: African cultural retention is present all around us today, in the form of names, music, dance, hair and physical markings that denote ethnic groups. Long story short, you may not be able to recognize things as being distinctly African but you are.

Kwanzaa is NOT an African holiday. Nobody African celebrates Kwanzaa. I am Kenyan and I hate that misconception. Kwanzaa is a "black American" holiday created based on? so called African principles.. which aren't even really principles in Africa..just mispronounced and misinterpreted Swahili words that people don't even know the true meaning of.
