I used knee savers for one season, after that my knees were stuffed and felt really sore because after a while they actually started pushing my knee caps outwards so everytime I squatted my knees would ache alot. At the start of this season I decided to take them off and started doing squats and stretches for a week, now my knees are feeling great.? After saying this I dont recommend wearing them at all. Hope this helped

True, but I would say that balls tend to get hit a lot harder in baseball just judging by the shape and swing of the bat and the delivery of the pitch. I really don't think fielding gloves are for pain protection or injury protection anyway, they're just to? vastly improve your range of play. Which they do to great effect

i'm not saying baseball is a sissy sport (i watch it all the time and play it sometimes), but there is a HUGE? difference between catching a line drive as a first baseman with a specially reinforced glove, or catching a cracked CRICKET BALL with your bare hands when your ten odd feet away from the batsman...You can't compare any hard hit ball in baseball to ANY hit cricket ball if you've ever caught a cricket ball with some punch behind it.

G'day , yep that can happen , the way our coach taught us to catch was with sponge balls he dipped in a bucket of water, if we didn't give with the ball when we caught it then we got wet !!! , of course during an Australian Summer there were quite a few times we caught it with hard hands on purpose, just to get wet because it was so hot. Another person i hard from was taught by there coach to? catch raw eggs...could you imagine the mess ??? but the key is SOFT HANDS.

@10sermie the more you do blocking drills it will naturally get better during games. have a coach hit balls in the dirt with a fungo bat, if you can block a ball coming off a bat, you can block a ball coming from an arm. long toss will strengthen your arm. throw a lot. but make sure you take care of? your arm also

Hey? there. I am currently a catcher in high school and up until my sophomore year, i was "afraid" of the ball when blocking. When i was younger, i would turn by body so much that i would get hit in the SIDE on a ball directly in front of me. It was becoming very frustrating. As a sophomore, armed with new catching equipment(All-Star) i finally got myself to "just do it". Once i realized it doesnt hurt and gives a good adrenaline rush, well, the rest is history as they say :)

Much as I love this show, I'm disappointed now, watching the eps in chronological order & at a rate exceeding one per week. I see that the initial replacements for both Mr Grainger and Mr Lucas were written in as if the new characters were indistinguishable from those they replaced. If they wanted to go that route, why didn't they go all? the way & hire new actors to play established roles? Really, I liked Spooner when I didn't see that they were just trying to make him another Lucas.
