@anotherangel78, For one thing, if Joan got hurt (broke a bone, scraped, cut herself, etc), the show couldn't go on filming further episodes without her. Second, Joan believed in? never putting a stunt person out of work. Third, safety first! Why take a hard fall to the floor when they can pay someone else to dress like you, and do it for you?! Even though, Linda Evans enjoyed doing a lot of her own stunts, even she was allowed to do only so much.
