There are a few reasons why tablets wont replace desktops. the first one is that tablets are unable? to run big software used in industries and software for production, with time that will change tough. Secondly... there will all ways be people who need bigger screens, you wont see people walking with tablets with 32 inch screens. most professional software require big screens for maximum data display. the closest "portable" thing to this kind of "tablet/PC" is the iMac...

I know the point your getting at. But maybe you don't know somethings I know. And the same things I know you can know too but you have to be openminded and go look for them. Have you seen the computers that operate off of wireless thought control. It is? still prototype. But that and holo projection, helps move technology along and not being so attached to the desktop that you dislike change because its not what your used to. Backwards thinking man.

It is dying but it'll never replace a desktop, I hope you know that. In terms of functionality, tablets are useless compared to a desktop and it will remain this way. Companies\universities\people who work, still require software like CAD or12D etc, which tablets will never offer. In addition, tablets are still a long way away in terms of power.? For example ALL tablets\phones still suffer severe lag when you're going through large PDF files, even with the tegra 3 quad core.

I'm never buy samsung tv, its fucking shit.?
By: Rawreyezhungry. on 25 May 12, 15:29:11
desktops are dying. I hope you know that. Processors are? getting more powerful and smaller on the nano level where your super computer today will fit in a tablet. With the access of the cloud and syncs you won't need a desktop.

more than likely? it will be made out of kinetic glass. Meaning you could hit it with the bat and it prolly not break. Glass is stronger than steel depending on how you construct it.

By: RummerChan. on 21 May 12, 07:10:51
This is awesome, but realistically,? I'd be scared as hell to actually have this exposed to the outside. Would bring a whole new dynamic to kids having to pay for a window they broke with a baseball, frisbee, etc lol. Some kid breaks this, they're their neighbor's slave for life.
By: hummerboy29. on 19 May 12, 19:46:54
This will cost? a gazillion dollars! Why can't Samsung ever make the good stuff affordable?!?

Having the computer there for the ability is the point. Obviously with touchscreen desktops that was a retarded idea. But with this, I can have the computer there for the heck of it, disregarding the fact I won't? be using it as much as my normal desktop. I dislike how some people think tablets and laptops are the future, no. Desktops will always dominate. Big screens and nice computing power. The size may change but it will always be a desktop.

Sorry to cock block ya, but it's? one way.
By: Vaesyr. on 16 May 12, 01:07:27
The touchscreen desktop computer was introduced a little too early, and seeing keyboard add-ons for tablets, perhaps now is too late. I can see a lot of uses for a window mounted computer.?
By: hawenam. on 10 May 12, 06:41:40
i dont think a lot of people want a computer on their wall but thumbs up for the idea...its like the? touchscreen desktop computer a total miss...

Wow, I missed this. So, let's see: Microsoft Surface has technically been out for a while. The first stable release uses Samsung for hardware. So, now Samsung has a touch surface? Or is it still a Microsoft collaboration? Also, I hope all of you know that the cost of the Sur40 is $8,400. My firm would love to? use Surface with a touch version of GIS, but not spend 9 grand. I'm predicting this will cost around the same unless it's released a while from now or uses software inferior to Surface.
