The lines on the Mercator projection are utterly ignored by all schoolkids and thus by all adults who grew up from being schoolchildren. Only cartographers look at the lines and understand them and the Dymaxion only works if you are able to forget a lifetime's worth? of Mercator propaganda and the belief that maps should show everything in a single plane.
