I like it how the non-smokers come to an e-Cigarette page and do nothing but try rinse out smokers and ask why it's so hard to quit. Maybe it's because smoking is extremely addictive and it's also something to do, whether your by yourself or with friends whatever it's sociable, and alot of the time can actually be quite stress relieving. It's difficult to believe they are fighting to ban a product which has massivley smaller amounts of carcinogens, is better for you and has great results with helping to quit outright or simply replacment, its better for you whichever way you look at it. The only thing even marginally similar to a cigarette is the risk of heart attack, which can be partially mitigated by regular exercise. (I should also point out this is about the same as that of smoking and isnt fully? proven)

I love how nobody seems to understand that the nicotine isn't the main problem. It's the tar and the other harmful chemicals. No,? it's not. It's just nicotine, flavorings (if any), and propylene glycol to get it the smoke effect (they use it in fog machines). Smoke is comprised of totally different materials, since it is a product of combustion, a chemical process. This propylene glycol vapor is a -physical- change. While this is a good alternative to cigarettes and the lung cancer/emphysema that chronic smoking can cause, nicotine itself can lead to hardening of the arteries, so it's? not a "healthy" device per se. It's definitely an better, and can help people that want to quit or give smokers an alternative. Liquid will not accumulate in your lungs. Propylene glycol, the "liquid" in the mixture, is a gas at standard temperature and evaporates on contact. They use it in smoke machines, for example.

Okay, an update: I tried it one more time with an empty cart and it's not that bad. But the first time I tried it with a full cart? to see if I could get more vapor. A nasty tasting combo.

My e-cigarettes just came yesterday and I tried this. I would NOT recommend it. While it does help to produce much more vapor than your regular cartridge, the glycerine has such a sickeningly-sweet flavour to it, it makes you sick after? a while. I had to switch to my spare atomizer because the flavour was so nasty. Just my opinion.

Yes, you have to thin the glycerin a little to get it to wick. You can use water, try dark rum, whiskey or vodka. ? Vapes really well once to get thinned right.

It's been 2 wks and 1 day since I stopped smoking regular cigarettes and been a 2 pack a day smoker for 27 yrs. Best one to start with? is the Riva Ego ($50 usd)which comes with a 750 mAh battery and vapes at 3.7 volts. It comes with 2 batteries, to atomizers, and 5 cartridges. You have to initially charge the batteries for 8-10 hours. So I'd also recommend to get a usb pass through which allows you to plug into a usb source. Smoking habits will determine the nic strength you start with, 0-36mg.

@sarahjocics hi Sarah, some airlines are more than happy for people to vape on their planes, but some are the complete opposite unfortunately :( best thing would be to try and contact the airline in advance and see what they say.......if they say no then i would advise that you put your main vape and e-liquids in your main luggage and get a cheap disposable for on? the plane.......when no one is looking you can have a crafty vape ;) cheers scott

If you want to quit the 'smoke' but still need? the Nicotine,there is always that 600+ year old tradition of Snuff (Nasal Tobacco). My father sometimes uses it,and he let my brother and I try it as children (we just sneezed a lot). It's an aqquired thing it seems,but rather classy and eccentric with the little cylindrical metal box. From my reading on it, the snuff way cuts out all the health horrors of smoke inhalation at least. It would certainly be a talking point (and video for YouTube) :D

Good luck with quitting. I started giving up yesterday with 1 cigarette? all day (usually 15 - 20). Today so far none. Cigs have just gone up here in Oz to $17 for 40 which is about 8 pounds 50p. I'm never buying them again.

My concern is that these tests he's talking about were animals exposed? to AIR containing PG. As humans, we are inhaling it directly into our lungs and it's heated. Isn't that going to have a significant difference in the effects? For the record, I am an e-cig smoker and they are amazing but there really needs to be a more modern day study on this. I'm surprised that hasn't happened by now since they're so popular.

Media spin: ecigs proven to prevent the flue! lol Personally, I am more worried about how much more nicotine I inhale now than when I smoke, impurities in the fluid, and poor quality control. I.e. using a vat to mix antifreeze or? paint, then converting to e-juice without properly cleaning out the tanks, etc. Love the info rounded up on your web page, too.

Hi Scott, Thanks for another great in-depth review (you're getting well good at this!). I have one major concern here and it goes as follows. As you showed us there is a hole at the top of the atty between the two connectors where you insert the rolled up mesh wick.? What stops e-liquid from flooding the top of the atty housing if you leave the mod horizontal say on a table? Or even worse if you have it upside down? I just cannot see how it wouldn't leak specially with thinner juices.Thanx Steve

@TheJohnEAngel hi mate, different gauge wires will alter the resistance and also the number of coils too.....basically the thinner the wire, the? lower the resistance and the longer the wire, the lower the resistance so if you used 0.20 with 4 coils you will get around 1.8ohms.......but if you used it with 5 coils then you would get a higher resistance because the wire is a little longer and if you used 0.16 with the same 4 coils you will get around 2.1ohms cheers scott

Hey Scott, I don't mean to be negative, but do you know of any excellent repairable atomizers like the Genesis Maxi that doesn't require me? to reach around my elbow to get to my asshole to acquire it? @igetcha69 I actually always had and will always have concerns about our e-cigs even if its safer i think? :-D If you dont burn the liquid on the wick 3 times and use flavourless liquid f.ex. you have a metallic taste, but yea :-D I got kinda the same concerns about glass fibre, i think there will be some major improvements the next years on all of that "issues". I think there will be atomizers without heating wire or glassfibre mesh out there one day ;-) Im optimistic xD Cheers and a good night!

@jayvapes hi mate, I've never had any metallic taste? at all from either the Maxi or the Line.....just plenty of nice flavour! like i said, I'm not concerned at all personally as i know that whatever i vape will always be a million times safer than smoking a cigarette :D but if you are concerned by what someone told you then its best to avoid the Genesis atties.....or just replace the steel mesh with CE2 wick as that also works quite well ;) cheers scott

@igetcha69 Hey, its more about Oxyds, you wouldnt feel? ill or notice alot, its just pieces of "metal".. i think youve already noticed when not burning enough liquid at the beginning, you get a slightly metal-like-taste, iworried that when you getthat metaltaste it could be the oxyds.. my theory is that while burnin the liquid, rests of the liquid actually get over the oxid and hold them in place so that we dont inhale them, otherwise when you dont burn liquid, you get metal taste/oxyd-particles.
