I only found out about this version through a friend who had not heard the original. He loved the lyrics, but not the? melody or imagery. Although this was done in 2008, I remember exactly where I was when David sang this. I had just came home from the hospital, my grandfather just passed away from a heart attack. My sister and I were a mess, and she said "Let's watch some Idol." I told her no, but she turned it on anyway. David was about to sing when the TV came on. The first note came, and? I was floored.
