In a five year span, Billy Wilder made Sunset Boulevard, Ace in the Hole, Stalag 17, Sabrina, and The Seven Year Itch. Most film directors would kill a priest to make just to be able to make one film of that quality. We have talented film directors making quality movies now-a-days, but I don't think that their will ever be someone who managed to make quality pictures at such a prolific pace.?

I love them both, I think they both should have won the Oscar for The Apartment. His performance was? both funny and incredbily sad ('I said I had no family, I didn't say I had an empty apartment') and hers one of the loveliest and most natural performaces I've ever seen. I read that Lemmon, who later in life (on Inside the Actor's Studio) admitted that he was an alcoholic, was drunk that night and Shirley covered nicely for him, doing all the talking and guiding him off stage. If you look closely at him you can see he has clearly had a few. This is not intended as a criticism of a fine actor and? by all accounts a nice guy.

Yikes, AF and GNS are among my least favorite. With respect to AF, as much as I detest Peter Lawford, I actually thought his contribution to that film was the only interesting thing about it. I haven't seen GNS for many years so I couldn't comment further on that film.? I hope you also liked Glengarry, the Apartment, Days, Tribute, also!!!

This movie, the April Fools, Good Neighbor Sam and Missing were four of my favorite Jack Lemmon movies. Each one had some significance in? my own life. Don't under estimate the character he played in Good Neighbor Sam, those clothes and hats they wore to work back then reminds me of seeing my Uncle going to work as a kid wearing the same attire.

What a very gentle man. A wonderful human being on and off the stage. I miss his acting today as so many actors are nothing more than fluff like a George Clooney, Ben Affleck or Brad Pitt. They could never come close to what Jack Lemmon was even? in the bad roles he may have performed in. Jack was the essential class act. I bet he's in heaven rehearsing right now.

He certainly was! In fact, Save The Tiger was actually one of the first Jack Lemmon movies that i got on VHS and I'm thankful that I have it back now! As he says in his previous interview, you never know when a character or part can get to you! It is true that in order to play the part of the character, you have to gain control of the character otherwise you won't gain control of yourself! Those that have or have not seen Save The Tiger may not agree with me but, you'll see for yourselves! :)?

that movie was an amazeing performance, you have to really be deep and go through what the charachter in that film goes through to understand why it was just a good performance that it was made into a surprise winner at the oscars. watch save the tiger and watch it more then four times,to apreciate the? performance lemmon gave.
