WX, thx for your response. I didn't assume that it wasn't obvious, maybe that's where they put such things in their house. ? I still find it odd, despite the note not being in an obvious place, as you believe, that no one noticed she was not home as she was gone for quite some time. I'd notice if my Mom was gone for more than a couple of hours for sure. But it all works for me, it's still believable in the context of what's been happening in that house lately and Chantou's selfish behaviour :)

Matthew, I don't know if you feel comfortable answering this question, but what are KMF's main sources of funding? I know that the US State Department provided money for "AirWaves," and the East-West Center supports "Facing Justice," but how about your other shows? Times are tight worldwide, but? I'd like to believe that someone out there might be willing to bankroll more KMF programs. They have great cultural relevance and, IMO, contribute to the ongoing development of Cambodian civil society.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how much I loved that brief exchange between Oudom and Veata at the wat. As I commented? on a previous ep, I hope that (one of) KMF's next commission(s) is a prequel to MFMH, showing us how Oudom, Veata, and Chantou survived Pol Pot time and became a family.

I love the conversation between Sovann and Chantou at the beginning of the second half. Chantou has really grown up in the last few episodes, and it seems like she's acquired a dose of Veata's empathy and compassion. Sovann, too, shows great empathy here. Ah, and Veata finally comes clean about her feelings? for Thom, and we learn a bit about her first husband. I'm glad she has Oudom's blessing. She's had Smey's from the get-go, and maybe Phirum will come around in time.

oh I just caught up with the show, wow Prom Somnang is really playing Rith well, oooh so nasty he is and I can't? believe he just blackmailed his Dad too, but Ireally wish that his Dad would have thrown him out or read him the riot act or blast him and not give him any money. I don't think Oudum favors Chantou over Veata. He shows Veata tough because she IS tougher (and smarter). After all, Oudom and Chantou survived Pol Pot time together. He knows how strong she is.? He takes a gentler tone with Chantou because she was an orphan when he found her--the sole survivor of another family. She's tough in a certain way, but also more vulnerable than Veata, and Oudom responds to her accordingly.

Maybe I'm wrong, but on a repeat viewing of this ep, I detect more friendshp? than romance between Veata and Thom. I guess we'll see. Does Rith have any good points? I haven't seen any yet. @kimR1808 I? agree with you that I would like to see traditional Cambodian dresses. It is suprised me that I did not see any traditional Cambodian engagement and Cambodian dresses at the engagement. Cambodian traditional dresses are the most beautiful garments to compare to any other dresses. Maybe the producer tries to do as now aday how Cambodians dress at the engagements. Excellent television series - THANK YOU KMF! I truly enjoyed watching this series, the acting was excellent, the subtitles allowed me to open my horizon to a foreign language production and the scenes brought back memories of my visits to Cambodia (scenes at the waterfornt and street #136 were cool). Congratulations to the actors and the production team. It is an awesome compelling enjoyable quality television? series that brought sensitive social issues to screen in an intelligent manner.

I believe that the actor who plays Bong Chann is my favorite in this series. His facial expressions are so genuine, and you can quickly tell what he is feeling without him speaking. He is especially good at the? "worried" looks, and senses things that Bong Phirum can't. I hope to see Chann's actor in other series too! Looking forward to the next ep!

When Muny threatens to kill Rith, I don't doubt? that he can and would. Veata is so wise. (She takes after Oudom, and I think Smey takes after her--lots of natural empathy, good people sense, and practical advice.) Her advice to Sovann is spot-on. But I do wonder if she has other reasons for wanting Thom to stick around? I loved Smey, Chann, and the two grandpas. I fear for Phirum's safety. Brilliant ep, start to finish.

There's definitely a spark between Veata and Thom. I don't know if it's romance, but certainly some kind of understanding (and he's very good with Smey). The actor who plays Chann is so expressive. That little eyebrow lift when he saw Sita spoke volumes! Perhaps Rith was telling the truth this time, but Sita's better off without him. I think Smey could? be some kind of a teacher or counselor like her mom, even if history isn't her thing [more].

1) Script as written: "My name came last among two other candidates who passed." This can be accurately paraphrased to "Three of us passed" as in subtitles (unimportant to the story that Chann was bottom of the three). Unfortunately, the actor? omitted 'other' on filming day, and no one noticed (except you). We wouldn't have changed the subtitles even if we HAD noticed, as the line, as spoken, doesn't really make sense. 2) The way he speaks doesn't seem to affect his great popularity on YouTube.

Glad episode 20 is up except I noticed the part when Tola went inside the house and Thom stood there for just a few moment and Veata walked in and said" Tola's gone. How? long are you going to stand there?". It doesn't make sense because it wasn't a long time standing. I expected a dialogue a little bit better of saying that. I was hoping Veata going to say something like " So how was your practice or training with Tola?" But noo...,oh well.

LOL at Chann when he asks the? girl if her name is Chinese or Khmer. That's the second time Mony has threatenend to kill Rith, and once again, I don't doubt that he can or would. It occurred to me that Chann and Thom have similar personalities and storylines. The family's desire to help the two men comes from the same basic decency and compassion. One minor quibble: Thom wasn't standing there for very long when Veata said, "Tola's gone. Why are you still here?" It just felt a bit off.

Phirum has a serious addiction to video games. I played for 4 years, stopped 4 years ago and I know how much time it can steal from your life, it is a major global problem with youth, mainly boys, who have access to computer games. Thanks to KMF for showing it on this show, even if it is not a main theme, I think it is very good how this show brings many social issues to the screen, maybe it will promote discussion and also help? parents see how to detect these problems.

Yah, I cringe trying to imagine if this series we're to be a weekly series? like shows that are shown on television. People would riot, babies would not be fed and lawns not mowed. An example of not wanting to wait but having to is one of my favorite shows on television "The Walking Dead". It's on hiatus until sometime in the October. That's no fun but we find other things to do and other shows to watch while eagerly anticipating the goodies in the next season. Rant over and thanks KMF.

Phirum is right about Sita's feelings for Rith, and I think Sita is correct in saying that he's too protective of Veata. On the other hand, Phirum is used to being the man of the house (second only to Ta Oudom), and he doesn't want to cede that position to Thom. "Don't ask. Just come and bring a crowbar!" I love the grandfathers so much. They should? have their own spin-off show. Wow--what an ending!

I suppose an errant mini asteroid or bizarre micro tornado or nasty case of total-body spontaneous combustion reminiscent of the Xfiles might be too much to ask for?! It would solve the problem though. Wait I have it, how about lightning, it doesn't kill him but it? does jolt some serious sense into him and after time in hospital he is a changed man. I would guess the cellphone is the most popular means, but? if so, how would you use it to apply consumer pressure to the TV stations or advertisers? Is it voting like "search for a star"? She was waiting, hoping for someone to rescue her. But when Veata came, Chantou pushed her away. I think Chantou will go home in time. She might need to hear from Oudom, and especially from Sovann, that the family needs her (and vice-versa). And then there's Rith. Oh, Rith. I think Sita accepted his marriage proposal because she believes she can save him. ? I think she's also afraid of him. This has all the makings of an abusive relationship, and I hope she gets out soon.
