@mratomix I don't think he was trying to be a Brad Pitt or a Tom Cruise in this movie. He was just being himself. And, 27 years ago when this movie was made, maybe just maybe, he WAS a little weird. Through his music of that time, he did seem to try to portary himself as a sexual GOD. But he did it well, and he pulled it off. That image still seems to? stick. BUT, he's almost 30 years older now. He has a wife, and children, and religion. What's he like now?

I absolutely love this scene in the movie! It's so innocently, perfectly done! They're both just so naturally? themselves, I feel almost guilty watching such an intimate interaction between two people getting to know each other. After this scene, you can so sense their later interactions through the rest of the movie. Thank you for posting this!

I believe this scene was meant to show an very awkward moment btwn them, not cause mass swooning. That was a happy by-product of Colin Firth's sexiness, vulnerability and amazing acting in this scene. Jennifer Ehle is NOT fat. She has a wide face and is, ahem, generously endowed, but NOT fat. As for the 2007 film, MM, while handsome, was sulky, not proud,? and KK, while pretty to look at, acts with her chin. Plus, it just felt too contemporary and their dialogue was delivered too fast, imo.

It's not inappropriate, though, since we're led to believe it was hot and he had rode to the estate quickly. Plus,? it is his estate so if he wanted to take a swim, why not?

I don't understand, I read the book but I did not? find any scene there where Darcy went diving/swimming on the lake on the day Lizzie went touring his place, nor did I find any scene where he strips off his wet clothes either. What chapter is it suppose to be? Does anyone know? Because I find this scene wholly inappropriate considering the setting was suppose to be in a time where people were more conservative.

Navy Helicopter stunt on Lake Tahoe

A couple of Navy helicopter pilots lose control of their choppers when they tried to hover too close to the water. In this video you see one of them dunk into the water and then amazingly enough, the pilot recovers and flies out.

jen8933 yes jen but in my case I am a air force veteran and have had at least 5 different troops relate ufo stories to me-- that were not made up and fake...remember-- the helicopter pilots can die in a crash into water-- there is no reason to think it was playing around-- there was something in the water and the helicopter got? in trouble getting images of it.

IMO, this is a rogue practice maneuver to dip a helo. Dipping is common practice for spec ops pilots in order to receive water-bound craft; but in other more outfitted aircraft. It's not something you get an "OK" for, so the opportunities are rare outside of the field. I'm not saying it's "ok" or the way to get ready to move up...but this is just what I see. The pilot "might" be wanting into spec ops and took a shot with? his buddy in the wrong aircraft. I wouldn't want the guy piloting me.
