I'd personally recommend the Xacti HD1000 if you want to do things with the clips you film quickly. The? quality may not be as good as the Canon, but it's quite close, yet it's cheaper and a lot smaller. That's why we use it for Gear65.

This camera is a lot better than the Handycam. If you search on? YouTube, there's a video directly comparing the two. The Handycam tends to have much lower saturation and the speakers aren't as good as the Legria.

Yes, auto focus, or? manual focus. It does focus quite fast though. As for interlaced, you can deinterlace when you export, so it should be better than my example in this video.

Well, sorry to say this, but I had exactly the same problem on this footage (as you can see). I think that when you set the? video processing or exporting, you need to choose to output to 720P or 1080P resolution. I gave up on this HF200 in the end.

There is no way to convert it in vegas? that I know of. I use Free HD Converter by Koyote Soft to convert my videos, it's free and it works pretty well. Though you may not want to rush through the installation because I think it asks if you want to install some kinda toolbar and has it set to yes by default.

I have the same problem when I try editing 1080p with this camera. It's your computer, not the camera. What I do is convert it into 720p and then set the preview quality to "Draft > Auto". It might also be okay in "Preview". Unfortunately as soon as you add some color grading from MBL, it will be slow and? choppy again. This is just what you're seeing in Sony Vegas, the video itself should be smooth.

great video mate, ive got the camera now but when? i upload the MTS file to my windows 7 (64 version) laptop documents then import it to vegas pro 8 it's really slow and choppy but the audio works fine, do you know the problem? is it my laptop or am i recording with the camera settings frame rate too slow or something what do you suggest?? thanks

Cheers man, Well all I do is put my sd card into the computer, and copy and paste the files from the sd card to a folder i made in my documents folder. once there copied over I literally drag them into the sony vegas timeline. oh and get Windows 7 :) I hope this helps,? Cheers

but how did u put it to manual mode with focus??? i can only choose instant or normal AF there is no manual. ((( and with autofocus there is annoying sound of the focus which is also present in the? video, especially if the shooting indoors and in silence
