I know its not a real android tablet but I'd definitely take the kindle fire over this. Lisa, you should check out the ainol nova 7 aurora. An acquaintance of mine got one and he loves it. It? runs android ICS, has dual core, 1gb of RAM and he easily installed the full android market. I'd love to see a review on that if you ever got your hands on one =)

It was on some news site covering the IFA. The OMAP 3622 is said to be simply a higher clocked 3621, thus, it must have the? same IVA2 co-processor in the 3621. This basically means laggy 720p H264 decoding, even at lower profiles. I am now torn between the upcoming Archos 80 G9 and this. The additional $100 for the Archos 80 is justified with a very powerful SOC, even faster than Tegra 2 devices! The A1 perfectly fits my web browsing, ebook and pocketability needs though.

BTW, the OMAP 3622 is basically the same as the OMAP 3621 SOC in the Nook Color. The only difference is that the 3621 has a stock clock of 800 Mhz while the 3622 has a stock clock of 1 Ghz. Both use PowerVR SGX 530 which is fast for 90% of Android games, even the "Made for Tegra 2" ones. The only thing I don't like about the OMAP 3621 and 3622 is that it only has an IVA2 multimedia co-processor that is rated by Texas Instruments themselves as lacking in capacity for processing HD? video.

This was released by Lenovo at the IFA in Berlin just this week. It will use an OMAP 3622 SOC, not a? Rockchip RK2918. The OMAP 3622 is much better than the RK 2918, so I'm happy. Price as announced is $199 for 8 GB, $249 for 16 GB and $299 for 32 GB. Only the 16 and 32 GB variants will be released in the USA.

.. on my original tablet, Skype worked OK apart from the camera didn't work. In the replacement tablet, camera works fine? ( apart from being upside down ! ). I found that replacing the stock launcher with Go Launcher Ex made a big difference. All in all, I think it's pretty good for 150 quid and my kids enjoy all the games available ... Angry Birds etc play just fine.

I paid 150? quid from Amazon, and apart from the screen viewing angle, was pretty pleased with it ( added an additional 16Gb Class 10 card for 15 quid ). Wifi had no problems ... I've read that it only happens with certain routers .. my Netgear has no problems. Problem I had was that accessing google maps caused a reboot, so got a replacement from Amazon. Turns out problem is the latest update to google maps ... if you uninstall latest update, problem is "solved".

Yeah. But this tablet seems to be useless. This is more like what Ashens would call a fake iPad rip off when you look at the? way it functions. Also the blackberry playbook does not have a better os than android but to get most of your stuff done like web browsing, checking emails and watching YouTube etc does the job a lot better than this thing does.

For around the same price you can get a better 7" tablet which is the blackberry playbook. Great video Dave. Very good and honest review. Don't you just hate it in a device when you keep getting a problem but then when you try and show that problem to everyone on camera then it works perfectly fine? I always hate that. Wifi ,camera and most of the hardware that requires a driver doesn't work do to the fact the drivers are missing. Homebrew groups are working on getting ics? going on the A1 and lenovo may yet provide it themselves. Its not a question of hardware as the lenovo A1 can do ics easily enough..its merely a waiting game now tell we have it.

They said they wouldn't update it ti cs they didn't say they wouldn't provide it for download. The K1 is getting just such a treatment and for those calling this fake its not. Just do a google search? for lenovo A1 ice-cream or check the lenovo forums as there's a link this the rom. Its more a proof of concept at the moment but its no secret that ics can run on the hardware of the A1 smoothly.

I've watched the video three or fours times now along with a landscape? shot of the A1 and I'm 99% certain it is an A1. Touchpad is for a start bigger and has a 4:3 ratio. The A1 is 16:9. When the brightness of the video increases at 22 seconds, look above of the Lenovo logo and you can see the clearer plastic of the front facing camera. As for making a launcher do all that? Nope, far too much effort just to fake this. Only thing this could be is an A1 showing a video of ICS being used.

There is no way this is fake. Yes, this is real. To go through the trouble? of modifying the launcher and the core OS properties mind you would be ridiculous. I'm ready to give this guy (or girl mind you) the benefit of the doubt that this is real. I've tried almost every ICS launcher out there and none can compare to this video!

I have an A1 tablet, and, let me say, that it has been nothing but superb. The screen? resolution produces some good images; the speakers are loud; and the processing power is snappier than one might think. If you're looking into a small tablet, such as this, I'd seriously give the A1 another look!

I don't know why? but it doesn't... You can check Lenovo and Skype suport forums. It's a known bug.

offline GPS, this is what tablets need to be have. screw the 3G and google map? and date plan crap, trying to rip off from people. hope lenovo continue to put offline GPS or a whole digital map into the tablets. people needs to know how to read and look at maps.

I do not recommend ... Once that even in the plans there is no upgrade to a newer version of the system, and two, despite the current slot usb can not connect any? flash memory or a 3G modem (with USB OTG cable) - the current system simply does not support xD

I am? confused why they hiked the price? from the original $199 price that this tablet has been advertised for all over the web. I'm wondering what is going on as this tablet sells for $229.00 at one online retailer, about what the 16Gig model is said to be selling for at $250. Perhaps this price is not locked and is subject to change as well. If someone has more info the wild price change I am interested as I am interested in the 16 Gig model when said to released in Nov if price stays stable.

I'll start some apps and play around with them so you may get an idea of how smooth (or unsmooth) the device handles. The device is standard setup and not rooted or modded in any way. All apps shown are either on the device or where installed through the standard Android Market.

He, thanks for the comment. Well, I've had the Lenovo now for some time and theres are the apps I use a lot. GO Launcher Ex? (Home screen replacement), Beautiful Widgets (e.g. the Battery widget, also? other cool stuff), Minimalistic Text (also a nice widget for the home screen), quell:reflect (game), Angry birds, Osmos HD, BubbleUPnP and DICE Player for video streaming from my NAS, c:geo (Geocaching) K-9 (great email reader), Pocket (formerly Readitlater), Springpad, Wunderlist, ES File Explorer

Der? GO Launcher Ex hat eigene Themes die man über das Menü auf dem Hauptscreen auswählen kann. Man kann auch individuell Hintergründe, Icons und die Schriften einstellen. Das ich nicht spreche ... tja, ich bin vielleicht noch etwas schüchtern bei meinen Videos. :-)

I read for my Lenovo IdeaPad A1 that I am getting that the A1's version of Android 2.3 isn't customizable with any app on the market. thank goodness you uploaded this piece of proof that the Lenovo IdeaPad A1 is customizable. without this I would of? had to flash a rom onto my tablet.
