It doesn't make sense to say that Placentals are the "most evolved." Evolution isn't a ladder with the "most evolved" on top and the "least evolved" on the bottom; it's a tree with all organisms being equally evolved, which? is to say that they all have had the same amount of time to adept to their environment for the purpose of survival and the procreation of their genetic information. evolution.berkeley (DOT) edu/evosite/evo101/IIB2Notladders.shtml
