While it is widely accepted that the mitochondria and chloroplasts were created from an endosymbiotic relationship, the nucleus is not as? widely accepted. The reason for this is that the nucleus is topographically equivalent to the cytoplasm and also contains no other functions other then the storage of the DNA and transport of effectors. It also only has a single membrane. More likely it formed similarly to the ER and Golgi apparatus, evolutionarily created by the cell itself.

I have mitochondrial myopathy (or decease I guess?). I was born with it (I guess). At age 5, my parents noticed I started to wobble when I walked. This has no cure as of yet and I wish it would be studied more. This decease produces an incredible amount? of body pain. I was forced to take narcotics at age 15 and have been on them ever since. I am now 29. So from what he is saying in this video, do I not absorb the nutrients from food? I am VERY skinny and I never gain weight no matter what I eat.

actually, i've been lifting weights myself for about 2 months as well, i'm not going full out bodybuilder but i want to put on a few pounds, try some? chlorella or spirulina, they're packed full of protein, most fruit n veg are full of protein too, especially greens like spinach and kale and brocoli or asparagus, nuts are really high in protein too. i've also been using hemp protein powder as well to try and get my intake up a bit, it's 100% raw hemp with no additives... cont

2- Additionaly, if I remember right, mitochondrias multiply themselves very fast in certain cases, up to every 15 minutes in some cases. So benefical mutations will increase their efficacity and speed? in which they reproduce, while bad ones, will not allow the mitochondria to multiply as well. Since theres a lot of mitochondrias in the cells, most of the time the best mitochondrias will be present.

Correction. It is a common misconception that mtDNA is only inherited from the mother. Recently Simons & Cummins both Evolutionary biologists at Murdoc University Australia have shown using microscopy and DNA analysis that? mtDNA from the sperm midpiece does apper in the fertilized mammalian egg. Sorry but you are just flat out incorrect here. Interbreeding between species, which is likely in this case, means that we did NOT evolve out of Neandertal populations. There was genetic distance between the 2 groups that was the result of a common ancestor.? That distance wasn't wide enough to limit breeding between species.
