Eg. showmeldcornhold^. If a website limits your characters, or insists on a number or capital, capitalize one letter and add a? number. If they limit the number of characters, leave off one letter in each word: Shomelcorhol^69.

This video is wrong: 1. If somebody leaks your password #Asits9:AmZ - he might guess, how you did it. That might be fatal for #Asits9:PaP and #Asits9:MaC - that is pure obscurity. 2. Why should I use? only the first letter and not the whole sentence? That would be much better. This is not a particularly good password selection alogorithm. The problem is that there are not a lot of easy to remember sentences. In practice what happens is the? sentence that is chosen is the first line or chorus of the current pop song, or some well known literary phrase such as "all the worlds a stage and the men and women merely actors". A good cracker can build a dictionary of standard phrases and the standard substitutions and end up in your account faster.

For a dummy...I'm not sure how this works. In this video the cracker finds matches. But are those matches performed for known e-mail addresses the cracker has input; or has the cracker simply searched a hash list looking for any matches it may find, but that can't be used because the corresponding E-mails weren't known; or, is the cracker finding matches that? CAN be used, because the correspodning E-mails r attached to the matches? I don't even have my own computer; that's why I'm a dummy.

iv used password, password1 and pass word as my password for years, never had any trubble. as far as i can tell, from friends whos been hacked, theyv been to a website that look alike facebook and that kind and written in their password whiout knowing. i think most hackers crackers or whatever use that method to just fish for password and usernames. heck soon whit all the cloud virtual machines they could probebly just simulate one and onec they get? your username and password they get access.

You are wrong about the 7 million years. I calculated your result. It gave 128 different charters. and l0phtcrack can hack without trying big and small? charters. This is the same. So in mine calculation, you need maximal 68 charters. Which brings the time down to 13 000 years. If you have 8 charter password. It will take only one day!

Which in a wired network in 99% of cases, it shouldn't be able to see anything but its own packets. This is because people use Routers and? Switches now which only send packets intended for your computer, to your computer. Wireless networks might be a different story. You seem to have a gift for teaching. Now, I am trying to get my head around the salt part. It is a random piece of data ( up to 128 bit long ? ) added to the hashed value of your password. Is it stored afterwards anywhere ? If yes, doesn't it mean it is a potential security threat ? Good Vid. One thing though, I wouldn't recommend using SHA-1/2/256 really for password hashing. A better bet? would be bcrypt or scrpyt or PBKDF2 all of which are specifically designed for passwords.

Because your not an admin. In order to change an admin or guests account from your account you need to have admin control. Try? going on your mom's account and onto command prompt and into users and changing yours from guest to admin. There are commands to become admin through command prompt. Lastpass is awesome. i use it for Chrome and use a website called Strong Password Generator to generate my passwords. Last pass doesn't work with some popup windows but for the most part if it's tied to the browser it will login for you or atleast autofill it can also store any filled? in information. I don't know how secure it really is since it's storing information online but it's got to be better then exposure to keyloggers

You use Linux (BackTrack is best) to use bkhive and samdump and copy the? SAM and SYSTEM (other person's) files to a USB, then use another PC (yours) to crack the password with Cain.

Fantastic, thanks for sharing this video. I bought a 2nd hand PC, realised some months later that the Win XP Admin account was passworded, so I used the dictionary attack as you directed. After about a? minute of CPU crunching, it found the password and tested it ok. It was 9 characters, 7 alpha and 2 numeric. Thanks again.
