No, remember the idea is to exert no undue influence on the gun. So while my thumb may touch? the slide (it actually touches the frame below the slide), it doesn't press against it. Your thumb doesn't need to even touch the gun.

Thanks for posting this video up. I've never shot a handgun in my whole life until the other day at my firearm test. I failed it because my aiming and grip. I basically went it? without any knowledge of how to shoot a gun with good accuracy because the security academy didn't cover that part. So I was just shooting like a newbie and failed. But then I still got a retest this weekend so I'm goin to try this grip to see if it'll improve my grip.

switched to this grip after many years of mossad draw? & grip, granted it is not the most comfortable one, but in one afternoon it increased accuracy and tightened the groups at 25 yards, the though part is changing old habits and getting used to it, highly recommend it.

There was a revolution in shooting in the 80's. Most people don't realize it but a lot of what is seen today stems from that. While this is well and good ultimately whoever is shooting should have a grip that feels comfortable to them, not forced. I have been shooting handguns for 30 years and that dual thumbs up grip is never comfortable to? me, you don't have full closure of your grip around the gun and has potential in getting your weak thumb sliced or pinched by the slide during recoil. I never understood why this grip was invented recently when people have been successfully shooting with other grips for decades.

Great video. I'll try this way out in the future! I was taught differently in the British Army to use the supporting hand underneath the magazine / grip. I found it ok, yet later learned that if there's a breech issue (failure to? go into battery) the magazine can potentially fly out and badly maim your supporting hand!

I started doing them before I saw this tutorial and instead of doing the progression, I keep my hand on a wall for stability. I think of it kind of like an assisted pull up. Repetitive and reasonably intense stimulation will strengthen the nerve impulse sent to the muscles involved, making them stronger and more enduring. The technical term, is synaptic facilitation. Just found out today that I can do a full pistol squat!!! I'm a bit psyched about it? really! I mean it's only been a whopping month that I've been working on them. Really I'm not an advanced athlete either (hardly an athlete), so it was quite surprising within such little time I was able to do them.
