Well the gist of the game is you have 14 minutes to pick up as much treasure as you can. You only have 3 lives, so the game ends when you either lose all your lives or the time is up. ? But it doesn't really stand up today, but is interesting in is it probably the first platformer or at least a pioneer for platformers.

also new games can be rented and beat in a few days or less, thats why they have to put harder levels, so you can/want play the game again but harder, most people just download the game so they dont waste their money, thats why people buy a game for $60 or so and then sell it in a week to gamestop for $20, try to beat the original zelda without cheating! if you never have played that game before it would take for ever to beat both levels and? thats over 25 years old!

even if, your talking about a system that was near 30 years before! atari kills xbox 360 and ps3, so does the original NES. i sell and have played all systems, nes sells better and keeps a good value over most new games, you buy a new game for $70 new and then its worth $20 a month later. there are atari games worth 15k and nes for 50k. the value? has nothing to do with how awesome the system was, im just saying, atari is overall better to me and a lot of real gamers.

@RJHTommy no the levals are not random at all and all treasure items are only ocated on specific screens,. the maker of this vid did? not do the best walk though becasue the maker did not get the proper ending and instead died. beilve it or not if your able to locate all tresure items and get them the game ends anyways with out your death.

This is one of the few games I would still play, even after all of these years. Going through one underground is the same as three topside. Start the game and go down that first ladder, but go toward the left once underground. Once up, go right, jump over the fire, then go back down the next ladder, Go left. You should get the money in less than a minute. It's impossible to beat the game without using the tunnels. You? end up running out of time if you don't.

My best score on this was around 66000 points. Any score over 20000 would make you eligible for an Explorer's Club emblem. I imagine they gave out a lot, considering how easy it was for me to score that much and that I'm far from the most skilled video game player around. Also, the crocs are nothing compared to the scorpions. The margin for error is much slimmer. And I don't? think you can beat the game without using the underground passages.

I've answered this question a lot, but you may not have heard it before. I don't have the equipment to convert straight from the console? to the computer. And it's much less of a headache with systems like NES with my walkthroughs, keeping save states for each level makes grabbing footage I missed much easier, as opposed to going back through the entire game to capture 4 seconds of footage.

- Yeah, but those are arcade ports. That's a whole different thing. Raiden requires extra muscle that then-current-gen 16-bit consoles didn't have the muscle to do. They release those on Playstation so you could get an arcade? perfect translation. Pitfall Mayan Adventure is not an arcade game. And it was on every single platform of the time. If this version shined in a spectacular way, I could see wanting it. I love Jaguar, actually. And I'm collecting.

I've got this for both the Jaguar? and the Genesis. Since I have both systems hooked up I think I'll need to take another look at them. Personally, I think this game looks stunning on the Jaguar. That was one tough cat though. lol. Thanks for posting all the Jaguar games. It makes it easier to decide what to get. I'm looking at getting a homebrew next. STAY AWESOME! :)

Many games on the jaguar are side-scrollers. Video game companies didn't know how to fully utilize the Jaguars advanced capabilities, when so many consoles were still either 8,16 and? 32 bits. and that's why it failed.

The amazing thing about 2600 programmers isn't that they had to work with a machine that lacked a display chip (it had one), it's that they made so many games with a display chip designed only for Pong and Combat -- so limited you could call it a half-scan-line buffer. The title of one? book about the 2600 is "Racing the Beam" -- there weren't nearly enough clock cycles to both fetch graphics from memory and update the display registers, so coders invented a plethora of incredibly clever hacks.

Yes,? the Apple II, that would be the closest thing. The cpu would put the pixels into memory. And as the television scanned the beam, the apple would sequentially dump the ram to the television set. A first example of bitmapping. The stuff that does the scanning isn't really a GPU either. It's a handful of discrete logic gates, at best. Nothing more than a counter and DAC.

I've played the Atari, the SNES/PC and this version... The difference? I played the NES version when I was 7 or so. And, darn,? it is not as hard as James made it to be. It taught me, at early age, that games can have traps... EVERYWHERE. Something that was not much clear in Mario or Zelda, for example.
