Of course, I totally agree, but our mission remains the same, protect those in trouble and help rebuild. Of course, that means hurting our economy and therefore,? hurting its people. The premise was of course wrong, strictly because the fear of the booted nuclear radiation testers from Iraq, sparked fear that only surmised that Saddam was building more. Its still clear that he is fully capable of using them, example being the Kurds and Iranians during the 1970s and 80s.

Sure, American forces in Iraq might promote the security of Iraq, but America itself? Not so much. The war was based on the premise that Hussein's regime? was giving or was going to give nukes to Al Qaida. Turns out they didn't have any nukes to give, and they didn't have operational ties with Al Qaida to begin with. "Nation building" is all fine and dandy, but in this economy, I don't think we can afford to do stuff like that, especially since the return is so little.

America politically lost, as well as the support back home dropping to crap thanks to hippie college boys and girls. The only reason why they hated it is because they saw the realisation? of war, and pussied out of the fight before they could experience the brotherhood of soldiers that is brought in bond from the fires of warfare itself. Its not just one man alone, its a group of men and women who have maintained security, even when it doesn't seem like it. Vets believe we still could've won.

Funny, despite the fact that Vietnam was of course fought politically, just like? today's wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq, instead of real soldiers who experience the results of success and failure calling the shots, its politicians millions of miles away deciding the fate of soldiers and civilians. War is evil, and though its true that we still have troops in Iraq, doesn't mean we are there as controlling disciplinaries, but as a source of security against international terrorists.

This is honestly one of dumbest comment I seen posted for this song. This song was dedicated AGAINST the Vietnam war, which was viewed as a mistake by most people. The Domino Theory had no prove, and the fact that North Vietnam was fighting for independence from the French meant no ties with Communism/USSR.
