Wow for 10 g's I would strongly recommend an e46 3 series 01 - 05. They handle better than almost anything on the road even at? that price it'll give a Porsche a run for its money, the braking is ridiculous on any standard 3 series , and they are acceptable in terms of speed, slow but not mustang v6 slow. Or a 350z , speed ,style, handling and a nice sound.

Three things: 1) This is an interesting vehicle. I like the fully enclosed body (nice styling) and the performance. 2) This is NOT a ZERO emissions vehicle. Any generation of electricity causes some emissions. I'm not being negative - just reasonable and obvious. 3) We will not see? volumes of these in our lifetimes. too many full sized vehicles out there already. People won't buy these for 40K or even 30K when they can buy a used Porsche or Corvette for 10 grand and still get 20 MPG or better.

I recently rode in this car. I had dinner with Rick Woodbury and spent an evening talking to him about this concept car. Concept car? No, concept yes, concept car...no. His idea isn't to make a wooden Flintstone vehicle. Its a car that will protect a communter during rush hour traffic, get them to work on time, save space on the freeway, and at a? cost per mile that so far can't be met by any hybrid or ICE. I'm going to buy one of these as soon as the price is at his target of $10k each.

I dont get you, realy i dont. You complain about wierd things like weight, without? that weight it should be limited to 10mph for safety as it would tip over in every corner otherwice. And the aerodynamic aspect lets just say this: Its half the size so half the air resistance already. You demand way to mutch from a tiny company building these things in a garage. I know its performance but I also know what cost it comes at energy and cost wise. weight is good for safety but? only against other overweight vehicles. otherwise low weight is fine and we have to think ahead. if you reduce the weight to 25% you only need 25% of the energy and power to drive it at low speed. the body can be made more aerodynamic too. because of its dependence on a heavy keel it is fundamentally flawed. deal with it.

1. The weight is good for safety 2. You dont need any lighter, did you notice the performance of the little beast? 3. Efficiency.. Well its probably the most efficient car except for those extremely small solar cell cars they race with. Its more efficient then Tesla because of weight/power/size and efficiency cant even be mentioned when it comes to cars based on mechanical engines. Only problem is people dont like small cars, but the few years of oil left will help with that i think..?

I like a lot about the idea but the design concept has a fundamental unsolveable problem; it relies on the lead acid keel to be stable which means it can never be made lighter. iirc it weighs a? ton! same as a small 4 seater steel car. weight is an enemy of efficiency and therein lies its defeat.. I applaud their efforts and I hope they go with the truth and offer other designs instead. but I know it's a touch pill to swallow

Then, the funnier aspect, is that speed limits do exist. Okay I read the article from MotorTrend. However, it was just a comparison between the EVO and the STI. Basically, MotorTrend was saying how much the STI was understeering? so much (lol?). This car is better looking, better engineered, and more effcient than any fucken Mustang, Camaro, or any American p.o.s for that matter, and I'm American. I've driven two Acuras, 99 2.3 cl, 07 TSX. I've also had 2 Mustangs, one a 2010 GT. The difference bwteen the two was amazing. The Mustangs had alot more probs, GT and v6. My Acuras though, drove across the country w/ no hiccups. Everyone knows how good Hondas are, Acuras are like more luxrious,? faster Honda's. Perfect combo for me.

i have an idea, an eletric motor is heavy on torque right? and a wankle rotary engine has all the power at the top end correct? so why not? make a hybrid with the electric motor making the low end torque and the rotary engine making the high end power. That would give good power acorss the range and since rotary engines are small you can fit the electric motor right next to it. whats everyone else think of this?

That really does make sense considering that most electric motors ive seen that do 400to 900 lbs of torque are insanely expensive when you manage to make them smaller because of the complexity. I think? as all BMWs they have a first car with the Tech and then it trickles down to the rest of their cars and the original car keeps it value above all the cars that come after it. Oh how I want a diesel hybrid 4 door thats rear wheel drive ! I might just make one myself lol

i'm not going to blatantly say i'm right, because i remember what i read was an estimation. But consider that adding hybrid technology to a sports car is expensive. Adding high performance to hybrid tech is even harder. It's going to be expensive, at the very least i guarantee that it will be $150,000.? BTW, i'm pretty sure BMWs cars top 100k. I remember that their newest m6 is ~$110,000.

This car only competes with the Lexus 250h Hybrid BMW isn't a super car maker. The most expensive car they make thats sporty is 90k tops and their race cars for competition are only 138k not a road car. Even at 50k or 60k its worth it. Ive been waiting for the Replacement of the 330i 4D BMW from 2006. This is totally it. Just like the 330i its going to have Pony car power? and Nano/Smart Car Gas Mileage. The 335i was such a waste of mileage for such a small preformace boost from the 330i automatic. 6.7 0-60 for the 330i Auto and 335i was only just slightly less then 6 seconds to 60 for both the manual and automatic/SMG. I LOVE YOU BMW My first was a 325 Eta 1987 4 door Ive wanted a car I could fall in love with again !!woot!

There's a rich neighborhood where there's all these multimillion dollar houses 3-5 million each they have like 3 decent cars in their driveway such as some Mercs, BMWs, Audis The only sport car I seen was a corvette when one of them opened their garage, so I guess they might have some more expensive sport cars in? their garage.

Did you get? burned on an import car purchase before? You seem awfully touchy. :) A Nissan GT-R isn't the same as a Nissan Versa. Maybe the badge is important to you, but it's not for me. I'd personally get a Pagani Zonda, because it looks the most exciting to me. It's the kind of car you'd see on a poster in a kid's bedroom. The Lamborghini Countach had the same appeal. However, I'm more concerned about enjoying my childhood dream in a supercar than to impress some people I don't care for.

Wow okay! Well let me ask you something, if your paying half-a-mil for a car, shouldn't everything in that car be top of the line, why should you have to compromise?? Just because its a Supercar doesn't mean it can opt-out from offering a good multimedia system in a car. Other manufacturers are doing it, so why not Ferrari? I'm not comparing it directly to the old cars, that was just some background info to let you know I been around Ferraris. I've seen the new 458, not the FF, and yeah craftsmanship and materials, I admit is top of the line. But? have you seen what they have to offer in terms of in-car tech as in Multimedia Interfaces (CD, MP3, GPS, Climate Control etc..). It is horrible!!! But look at the new Lambos and McLaren...their systems are top of the line, they are no match for the Ferrari!

So you compare new Lambos and Mclaren to an almost 30 year old and a almost? 10 year old cars which were both much cheaper in their own times than new Lambo's or Mclaren are? Go to your local dealer and check the interior of Ferrari FF, then we'll talk. I still think you don't know what you're talking about because the only thing that could be different in Ferrari interiors is design, materials used and fit and finish are already as good as it can get.

I just picked up a 05 Mazda rx8 with 48k miles? for about $13k. And that is a quick car. It's flat through the corners and with the mazdaspeed exhaust and straight pipe it sounds like a f1 car. The mpgs are a bit weak but it's soo worth it for the thrills I get out of it. Videos soon.
