I too was uncertain about buying 50 Words for Snow after reading some of the critical reviews.I generally enjoy Kate's earlier albums more? than her later work but I would say that 50 Words... is up there with her greatest .I have written a review of 'Lionheart' in the past(5 stars) and I intend to put on a brief review of '50 Words...' in the next couple of days.

One reviewer went as far as mentioning "purchase Florence and the Machine's album as it's much, much better than Kate's". Hello ! i agree : Kate has never did the same album? twice. And it is a big merit for an artist. And yes, i consider " The Dreaming " and "Hounds of Love" as 2 masterpieces. Concerning "Aerial"......Well, i listened it a lot and, sorry, it is so boring with, i repeat, songs made of weak melodies on "ambient-lounge" orchestrations. I think you're simply mistaking your personal likes and dislikes for the quality of the music. Which is OK, of course: that's what people do here! I think her wonderful composing talent has simply matured. There's an emotional depth and complexity to these songs that she'd never even approached before. It's a work by a mature woman and it talks to a different audience than her first 5 albums -- unless you were there for the first 5 albums, in which case you'll? have matured, too.

You'd probably need me to explain my? explanation as well. Not worth my time. The government does not control our money. Our GDP is about 15 Trillion Dollars, of that 15 Trillion about 4 Trillion is deducted by taxes, that leaves 11 Trillion that the "Free Market" is in control of. Most of the is controlled on Wall Street and a handful of banks in New York. Stop Blaming the Government, the "Free Market" has probably wracked up more debt then the government has.

Children act? in all of the ways I described (and more). Which specific behaviours do you refer to? Money is just an optional & convenient way of transacting. It therefore aids our capacity to be productive/ efficient. Government controls (violent monopoly) over money is what stifles productivity & diverts the wealth away from those who produce it.

Do I really need to define what a child acts like? Then again I don't know how old you are and maybe you are a child. Government and democracy only came into existence because of scarcity and the Monetary system. Monetary based system does not accurately represent our full capacity to produce goods and services equally and is at the root cause of all violence. If you? desire to have more then anyone else, then I hope you like the system the way it is now, because that's exactly what we have.

Non of your statements are clearly defined. For example 'acting like a child' means what? Sharing, fighting, negotiating, giving, defending property? (children do all). We've always been? ruled by violent authority which violates our P rights so it's hard for us to imagine a different system. But without the parasitism of the state we would all become a lot more relaxed AND assertive about property. In reality nobody wants to own everything, it's just that state power is geared towards that.

Just because children grow up to be adults does not mean they stop acting like a child. Everyone loves to cling to property rights and self ownership when that is a flawed mentality, you can claim your body? as yours but it is not property. I *believe* that Stef's views on morality is that it has been exploited by the ruling classes in order to keep society from competing with government in areas such as theft, violence etc. So it's no wonder they teach it in schools.? OF COURSE they don't point out the contradictions and inconsistencies of teaching morality by force, or that governments violate all these moral standards. Just because something is used against us doesn't mean it is wholly invalid. Just look at environmentalism.

Remove government and some new order will form. That new order will have the same function and roles as government. For as long as there is man, there will be governance. Arresting is something we shouldn't remove at all, though when you don't pay the tax to the government who? gives 90% of the money to unnecessary stuff you don't even know about is just so wrong. Even though they call so many countries a democracy, it never is. We choose the party we like the best but none of them have exactly the same thoughts as us. When dealing with rational people, with no fundamental ill-intent, the doctrine of non-violence is preferable; it just doesn't make any sense to intentionally cause harm toward someone who does not wish you any harm.
