I'm guessing you've never heard of the Sony VAIO 505. It was made in 2003. Look at the similarities between that and the Macbook Air. It is probably the first laptop to use the wedge design to make their laptop so thin. Apple took that idea and improved on it. Now other companies are taking the concept from the Macbook Air and they're improving it.That's the? way technology evolves. You could say that other companies are ripping off Apple's design, but technically Apple is ripping off Sony.

I know that a lot of apple haters say apple also takes an original idea and just improves on it but thats kinda the point. If there was a mythical sony that looked remotely like A Macbook air you only know about it because you decided to research in order to dump on apple. Yes apple improves on others peoples idea but why is it always apple that makes an idea famous? and then all the other companies follow? i dare to tell me this is not proof. Okay, FIRST, it's not "copying" it's called "improving" second it's been happening for centuries, Apple is not the first person to have an idea taken and used for the base for another machine. Making a laptop smaller isn't something completely Apple people have been doing that since the first laptops came onto the market. Third, like @ihavenousernamelol2? said Apple is overpriced.

Actually it Apple's spin on on Sony's concept back in 2003 and it was called the? X505 - look it up. The x505 puts all theses devices to shame in terms of design.

the idea of a really thin laptop with low specs, good construction quality, for a high price is not apples idea. sony did it before apple (with the x505) and when apple released the macbook air, they compared it to a thin sony laptop... sony had released it about 4 years before apple but discontinued it, which is why? apple managed to say they had the thinnest until a few other thinner ones came out. back then it was not called an ultrabook, but apple made someone elses idea popular (again)
