i personally don't hate it though it kinda sacrificed important characters such as cyclops( don't presume he's actually dead), ruined juggernaut( both as character backround and actor choice) and reduced psylocke's importance in the trilogy( she barely makes a cameo while she's pretty much important in the comics). they also made the movie heavily focused on wolverine again rather than introducing gambit as promised in the novel or give some more screen time to cyclops and? jean.

if they're doing a sequel after finishing with first class and the wolverine, then i'll just hope they'll bring cyclops back. i mean, they didn't even show his body, therefore we have to presume his status unknown rather than deceased. i'll also like to see apocalypse as the main antagonist and? angel turning into archangel( apocalypse's slave). The "Days Of Future Past" arc may not be a bad idea also.

Yeah, the director of First Class already knew that this was a problem but chose to go with it. He understood that he was introducing First Class to a somewhat different? crowd, and that it didn't have to keep all the same elements of The Last Stand. And First Class turned out to be amazing, while The Last Stand sucks.

In X-Men First Class it showed that Professor X lost use of his legs in the 60's but in X-Men: The Last Stand at the beginning of the movie, during 1986(20 years? ago from 2006) he was walking. WTF? Im sorry but that a really poor excuse. THe truth? of the matter is that logans healing powers were preventing her from destroying him. But in this series it has been shown that Jean can surpress mutant abilities like she did with scott. Thus the conclusion that can be drawn up is that if this was just the pheonix then there wouldbe major pownage. It was the actual Jean that prevented the pheonix from destroying him.

You are not grasping what I'm saying. It didn't? matter if Claremont wanted to get rid of Cyclops long before his fight with Storm, but he was in charge of getting rid of Cyclops anyway so when he wrote the fight he intended for Cyclops to lose anyway, it wasn't about skill it was about Cyclops being needed to appear in X-Factor and Claremont had to make it happen even if he didn't want to.

It wasn't his book, and to make it, the Marvel editors had to scramble to wreck Claremont's greatest story by bringing Jean Grey back. He was planning to write Scott out of? the book and into RETIREMENT (ie, not into X-Factor) for a long time. He was to leave to Alaska and retire with Madelyne and be normal. The X-Factor people actually ruined every element of that plan.

I'm saying that Claremont was planning to remove Cyclops from the X-Men one way or another. Why? Simple, Cyclops vs Storm happened in Jan 1986, X-Factor #1 happened in Feb 1986. Chris had? been planning to create a team with the original X-Men, but he needed a way to get them back away from their teams and situations.

In other words, a character not so much as hinted at for another year and not introduced for another two years? - that is, a character Claremont hadn't thought of yet - was not responsible for a powerless Storm beating Cyclops in a fight. You really don't know what you're talking about. Madelyne Pryor was written to be a regular woman who just happened to look like Jean. She and Scott were to peacefully retire to Alaska. That was her status in Claremont's mind when he wrote Storm vs Cyke. SINISTER'S status in Claremont's mind at that time was, he didn't exist. He wasn't even an idea. If Claremont or someone else retconned it later, fine, but as written, Storm beat? Cyclops.

Sinister influenced him by planting ideas in his head that maybe staying? with the X-Men wasn't such a good idea, or that he wasn't as great as leader as he thought, he messed with Cyclops' head and thoughts. And of course Madelyne wasn't created solely for the reason to help Mr. Sinister in his plots. Do you really believe that every single storyline of every single comic book has been written a decade in advance? The writers intended for Cyclops to lose anyway, to remove him from X-Men.

That is absolutely true. He didn't just lose. It was during the Inferno story arc, X-Factor I believe, where the X-Men and X-Factor are the the mansion when Mr. Sinister appears. I think it's right before he blows up? the mansion that he explains how he did experiments on kids at the orphanage and he took a special interest in Cyclops and kept tabs on him to make sure he did what Sinister had planned. He then explained how he influenced Cyclops to lose so he could leave with Madelyn.
