Also, instead of using IR light like the Vampyr, Starlight scopes used the existing light and amplified it. This meant that it couldn't work in complete darkness and because it was such old techology, the view was horrible. It would be like if you sandblasted a piece of tinted glass? then took it out at night and tried to see things using only the moonlight. The IR scope is more like a flashlight, but since most IR light can't be picked up by the naked eye, the enemy wouldn't see you.

I would imagine they were pretty good considering I've had cheap NVG's that use the same technology but with a MUCH dimmer? light source and I could still see 50+ yards EASILY.

The new sidearm in ksf, the m629 revolver. Its 32k sp and resells for 9.6k sp. Its a definatley good deal for the money, but judge for yourself based on the video. Another thing, please dont ask, I cant make ksf accounts. To do that i need kssn numbers. I only had 2 and used them both.

Stg44 vampyr night vision scope. This scope paved the way for modern night optics and scopes. Although, this was not the only night vision scope used during ww2. The Americans had their own night scopes made to fit on the m1 and m2 carbines.

I'm not saying that the design wasn't practical, it was only designed to be fired from tanks and cover anyway. It was actually a very good idea.? Dude, if your that worried about the krumlauf distorting from heat, you can remake it with a replacable barrel liner, like the germans did with the 88mm anti-aircraft gun. Though with those steep curves, it would probably need to be a 2 part design. In any? case, though, its way more pragmatic than the corner shots.

Thats just stupid. Overheating happens with any weapon if you fire it? enough, even heavy barreled machine guns. People would complain about the 300-500 round barrel life of the krumlauf, but that was another false dilemna. Soldiers never carried more than couple hundred rounds of ammo (and even then, you weren't guarenteed to fire it all), so this would easily see you through more than a couple battles.

I was impressed with parts 1& 2 - Thanks for these. Most of these German sub-machine guns had the same fault. The vertical magazine made accurate, prone shooting almost impossible - the Kalashkinov AK47 design took note and ironed that problem out. In WW2 The British (Australian) Sten gun? with its horizontal magazine made for better accuracy and defense.
