Hullo, and thank you. I might do the Rumours version if I ever get around to it... I go through periods where I just don't have time to do this sort of thing. And the major difference between this version here and? the 1977 version is that it's capo'ed on the 2nd fret. The chords are relatively similar as well. If you listen to it you should be able to get it. :)

Nicely done! I'm always looking for tabs on this but can never find any that are correct. I was trying to play along with the studio version after this lesson and things sounded off until I threw a capo? on the 2nd fret. Odd that Fleetwood Mac would do a drop for the live version. btw.. the sound is def unique, but i wouldn't? say that it sounded like a mix of an acoustic & electric..to me it has more of a "resonating type tone to it" and that tone has it place, but it gets old after awhile and that was why i wanted him to get off that thing once in a while..but it seems like he is very attached to it..thanx again for your slant on the m-1.

I don't like answering these types of questions but I'll be nice today. ;-) Buckingham wanted a guitar that crossed a les paul sound with an acoustic... so? Rick Turner (who still makes them) designed this for Lindsey during the 1979 Tusk tour. Buckingham has used them ever since. I also wish he'd switch up electrics onstage, but not a huge issue for me. He does more acousticy stuff with his other Renaissance guitars now than he does with the electric.

i never cared for the switch lindsey made away from his tuxedo les paul that was a classic? axe w/ great tone, i thought he made the switch cause after awhile the les paul can start to hurt your shoulder and back, espec the 9-10 lb les pauls..who makes this M-1? why is it so expensive..i really don't get it ....the tone is distinctive, but after awhile it gets old... i wish he'd start using the custom once in a while at least..

Hi there! Actually, no... the comfort and ease of an acoustic is not the way to describe this guitar. It's very chunky (the neck) and has a wide fretboard. I prefer the slim-tapered Les Paul? necks to my Model 1... But, you just can't beat the tone of this guitar. So yeah... It's not "easy" to play compared to other guitars, or to get used to if you prefer a different style body/neck.

Hey there! Thank you for the comment. Most of the tone is from the guitar... those pickups just? have a special sound. The electrics were a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb under the table there and a Boss SD1 and DD5 for the effects. Actually I might not have been using the overdrive on this song... :)

Not sure to be honest, I change the settings all the time. This is one of the four delay modes (I think it's #3) and the feedback time rolled up fairly high). You have to play around with it to get it right. The best example on this video is right around 2:47 listen for the way? the notes slap back a bit and then roll off.

Maybe they'll get my x-Mas bonus ;) Parametric EQ: I? think he used it in "I'm so afraid" as recorded on the "Live in Boston DVD". Greetings to you! Thank you for the msg. I bought this guitar brand? new from Ed Roman in Las Vegas. Very good dealers, and nice guys. This guitar has more of a Les Paul feel in terms of the neck (which is the one thing that takes getting used to--the neck is chunky thick). This particular one doesn't have the parametric EQ on it like Lindsey Buckingham's does (But then again, he never uses that feature anyway.)

Hi Ponyboy, good performance of a good song. Quite easy powerchords, aren't they? I looked at the other videos where you present your "new guitar" - my favourite. Did you buy it "used" or fully new? I am interested in this guitar very much, just got the price list from RenaissanceGuitars. I was thinking of selling my Fender-Strat and buy the Model1. Is it worth it? The manual? describes so many different options with this guitar, I think it might overcharge me. Greetings from Germany

Good advice from birtchfeld (to bammerwiki)... Pick a handful of songs you? like and just try learning them with your fingers. Picking songs that are "fingerpicked" in particular helps (Fire & Rain by James Taylor comes to mind). Best of luck!

Just stop using a? pick altogether and your fingers will begin to learn what to do; I have not used a pick since 1991. They type of guitar I am playing will change my strumming and picking patterns - strumming chords with a Telecaster is just like playing with a pick but without one, steel string acoustic involves thumb, index finger, and flamenco style use of middle, ring, and pinky simultaneously. Don't bother copying - just do.

Unfortunately it's not a style I was taught. I started playing classical (nylon string) guitar when I was a teen so I always played with my fingers. I started playing electric guitar in early 1997, and later a friend of mine said "Hey? you play like Lindsey Buckingham!" I remember saying "Who is she?" ;-) If you want to play like Buckingham I suggest you study his technique and other players that use their fingers (Jeff Beck and Mark Knopfler to name a few)

I think to do it the Buckingham justice a nice Boogie stack like Lindsey plays through would help. My Turners have seen the likes of Marshall (Egnator class build), Line 6 rack (Pod Pro, and? all the old Pro rack gear Echo/Mod/Filter), Line 6 HD100, Rivera Fandango (formerly owned by Mark Tremonti). As much as I start hating Line 6, its still my go to gear in the studio ... maybe because its too heavy to move the rack out ... :>)
