Any of the extra instruments that people think they're hearing are a side effect of using a slide with high distortion. As you're playing and going a little crazy, your slide touches strings that you don't mean it to and it sets them off in the background. Kind of like white noise....? The white stripes shouldn't sound like Abbe may. They are different things. Jack white doesn't bother in writing complicated or fast solos, or even singing too well, and that's what makes the 'Stripes cool. Because they have a? raw powerful sound. It's not about beauty itself. Don't get me wrong, though. I loved that song by Abbe May, and most of the songs in your favourites, i certainly have to dedicate some time to that playlist because it seems to be worth it.

Well, that's the beauty of Jack White. Music is about sounding well - And the Stripes have a wide variety of sounds and songs. Their rawness is their beauty. If you talk like that, then why not, Metallica could be so much better if instead of being a metal band they were a huge orchestra with more "fullness". Also, 90% of the bands don't use bassists. They write boring monotonic bass lines and? the bassists can rarely demonstrate their skill, and in that case, i'd rather not have a bassist

There is not one White Stripes song that I can say I truly don't like. Sure I preferred the older, raunchier, garage-y stuff and some songs don't move me as much as others, but the Stripes are one of those bands that I can listen to for days, weeks even, ignore alll other music, and love it. Like Cream, or? Hendrix, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Black Sabbath. Some bands just hit that place in your heart and the music is like candy for your ears and your head. I will always love the Stripes!

I'm not entirely sure if we were all listening to the same video? here -- this is clearly a live version, which means that of course it isn't polished and lovely, but that rawness is what typifies the White Stripes' music and makes it so good. And yes Jack and Meg cover whatever they please and manipulate it stylistically...its called artistic license, and without it everything would be woefully bland...but look at me commenting on a youtube video as if it matters XD

The most notable was shown in the album cover of De Stijl, I believe. It is a Triple Peppermint Tremolo amp or speaker cabinet custom built by him. The cabinet looks handmade with holes from a hole saw all over it, red and? white of course. The internal Leslie rotating speaker is likely from an old organ. I have an old organ with one of those speakersa and plan to build it into a speaker cabinet after my 10watt television tube parts amplifier is built.
