D700 doesnt take HCSD and only CF cards??? Why does it take those dinosaur CF cards nobody sells any more? A? good reason for me not to buy the D7000

@photolitherland You should learn how to use the camera first (picture profile). D200 is 10Mpix,? D7000 is 16Mpix. So if you use kit lens, on D200 it's ok, but it will be "blah" on D7000. Go and spend more money for a PRO lenses. D7000 with Nikkor 17-55/2.8 makes razer sharp images.

I know that this is a late comment, but (correct me if I'm wrong) any lens that runs on Nikon's 35mm cameras will work on their DSLR variants. The even cooler thing is that legacy lenses will only be manual on Nikon's lower-end consumer-grade cameras, such as the D40-D3100. The Nikon D7000-D3x all have AF motors which are, I believe, compatible with Nikon's legacy lenses. I hope this helps, if you? still want to be 100% certain you can always look it up or contact Nikon. Regards.

Hi Gordon, I currently own Canon gear, however I am seriously contemplating switching to Nikon, why? Because Nikon allows the use of their old lenses, although completely manual but really nice lenses nonetheless, they are also inexpensive, while the Canon full frame cameras do not allow that without using an adapter.? Can you confirm that the Nikon D700 allows the use of such lenses as the inexpensive 50mm f/1.2?

So the D300s has two memory slots while the D700 has only one? Why is that? Is the second slot on? the D300s for video?
