ALL Canon Lenses work with the 1100D because it has a so called "Crop Sensor". If you would have a "full frame" Camera (5D, 5DmkII) it would not fit!?

I have this lens with my Canon 60D. Must say I am having issues with it and the sharpness (or lack of) with my shots. IS on or IS off....same deal. Not sure if it is? a setting on the camera or what but sharpness is an issue.

I don't think a 60D would even fit into the hands of a 12 year old. A 60D is a mid range DSLR camera with a heavy price tag. It isn't a toy, and it isn't a good starting point for entry level photographers. If you're getting a 12-16 year old their first DSLR? go for a 1100D.

The II on a Canon lens just means it's? the second version of the lens, an updated version. The Canon 18-200mm IS is still on version I.
