I was married for 30+ years. My wife cheated on me and I divorced her sorry ass. I reunited with a girl I have known since I was 9. I turns out she was the soulmate I have been looking for since I was 13. Six weeks before her 50th birthday, she asked me to spend that special weekend with her. I saw this scene unfold in my mind. ? I made her 50th BD like a fairy tale come true. She told me that Kate Middleton was not treated as well. I saw the clock shatter in my mind when she said that!

It is Arthurian myth. The Glen Close character is Lady? Guenivere, the bat is Excalibur and the woman in black who shoots him is...(drum roll) Morgan Le fey. There are of course more allusions, but those are the most obvious.

This is one of my favorite scenes in this movie and any baseball movie. There's something otherworldly about it, whether set in the 1940s? or the present. It's just a great scene. Thanks for the upload!

None of? the Cubs walk off the field while Hobbs circles the bases. The clearly believe the game is not over. Just because they immediately show the scene where Hobbs walks over to find the lady in white doesn't mean it's immediately the end of the ball game. The Cubs got to bat in the bottom of the ninth, and per tradition, lost the game.

Saw this movie a million times.? This scene is awesome. Glenn Close and Robert Redford were great together. Randy Newman was great with the music incorporationg with the scenes I definitely agree. Best baseball movie ever.
