Actually, what you are seeing now in Mexico is the result of government intervention...sure this stuff? was going on before, but since the Mexican president declared war on the cartels this only escalated the violence and brutality, and there appears to be no end in sight. Back to the main topic, you aren't really describing government so much as maybe one branch of it, the judicial branch. If your argument is that we need some level of laws and policing then I agree.

You say it's undermining capitalism as if we have pure capitalism right now. I would argue that income inequality is undermining government intervention in? the market with all it's taxes, regulations, subsidies, etc. Not to mention, people like Steve Jobs for instance, having so much money doesn't mean that I have any less money. If a third party steps in to squeeze MORE profit from them, they're going to cut essential things which the company itself would not have cut. It's the unsustainable ILLUSION of profitability. I disagree with the initiation of force, and the government putting a? limit on how much money someone can have is wrong in my opinion. Oprah for example, didn't take money from anyone, people willingly gave it to her. If she decides to donate her money, good for her, if she keeps it who am I to force her to give it away. Maybe the government should own everything and they can decide what YOU are allowed to have, wipe your butt for YOU, tell YOU when to go to bed and decide how long YOU should be? allowed to LIVE! The "Real Wealth" in America is untold Trillions held by tax free trusts. They are largely the "other people" who put up the money. Billionairs like Romney can not be "blamed" because there are no laws requiring US Corporations to fund pension accounts and there are no incentives to provide US employment. It's a way of looking at the tax picture. And government greatly dissincentivizes a private party from raising a militia to enforce wishes. With aggregated military "beholden" to people and constitution, we end up with less bloodshed, better economy, justice, etc if (duh) flawed

Landowners rent to tenants. It's a great deal for the landowner. You temporally agree to stay off "your" property. I think current? land ownership should be more like a lease from the public with royalties going to every citizen. We all essentially rent from the whole. The value is that the public gets the good deal and all tenants know they should be on good behavior and can have their lease not renewed. With imminent domain, this exists, but reps or bureaucrats make decision.

But others pay a very heavy price -- the workers who are laid off, the workers whose wages, pensions, and benefits are slashed, and the public at large - "you and me" -- for the expenses that must still be paid, but which are no longer being covered by the company. Especially since whoever buys the company from the PE firm will see all the financial documentation, will know how much debt the company has, and will have decided they want to buy it. And you can't blame private equity for government welfare benefits.

lol, my mistake on "3". I agree that *if* more debt is added (that is isn't paid off) it leaves the tax-payer on the hook, but all business of everykind has such risk if someone borrows (even starting a restaurant for example). As for 2, I wouldn't be suprised either, but? I don't know for sure and barring someone giving evidence of such I'll give him (and anyone else) the benefit of the doubt.
