This instructions are amazing! Thanks but no thanks! I did everything right up to the point of putting the last pieces together and then... a couple of springs came flying... then I noticed a big black spot on my rug!!!! If I had a chance to? do it again I would do it right but my recommendation to everyone out there... don't waist your time and get another cheap printer. This one lasted me at least 3 years for 60 bucks... I lost 5 hours of my life that will never comeback. Good luck everyone!

hi there! after doing all this, the led gives a sequence of 5 times orange, one time green, then again. What does it? mean? It's the same print head, and cartridges, should work fine. But it won't reset either, let alone print something.. Did anyone get that led sequence and solve it? Thanks!

Hi cubedgame, great vid, just taken apart mine. Did wonder about the platen absorber- how easy would you say it is to get out? I removed a sprung screw on the Left side and the regular on the right but is there another buried? Is it worth the effort? of detaching the roller? Is there any switch connected with this pad that will trigger a fault code? Best Wishes, RHS

LOL! That video and instructions are great! Thanks for doing that! :) But yes, what about Canon tech support. They? can fix and make some money and plus you get a warranty for the repair. Might as well! Or yes buy another one, but more pollution. Hello! :) What bugs me is that Canon never advertising for issues like that! ;)

Thankyou for this post. The tip which enabled me to reset the printer status without actually fixing the problem saved me a big headache because? it meant I was able to print something I needed urgently.

This works perfectly! Only you have to watch out when you get that big thing? out of it with the cartridges on it.. There is a white plate behind it with 5 springs which fall out easily. They can be put back, but some arent that easy to put back.. If they do fall out, you should google up the manual. There's a drawing of the printer in it, where you can see how the springs are positioned if you zoom in and look closely.
