I used a Canon 5D2 to film most? of this, but the parts with the jetboats were filmed with the Canon 600D and Nikon D5100. Don't worry about spending too much money - have a look at the best buys section at cameralabs . com. But if you've got money to burn, by all means get a Canon 5D3 or Nikon D800!

I am learning photography and I'll be grateful if u help me choose the right camera :)

Thanks, i agree, it would be great to have comments on the site, BUT that would require a database-driven content management system, and my site is entirely coded by hand with static pages! I? know, the horror! So comments are not possible unless I move to a CMS and it's just too much of an upheaval and investment for this one-man operation!

Hi Gordon, u do awesome reviews.Those r some honest n genuine reviews.But i hav one suggestion,I believe ur site needs to be upgraded/updated since the user experience has been changing over years.Like providing the login facilities n allows the users to post coments on ur reviews n articles? are some of the basics.Ur reviews r awesome,no flaws in that. But i personally believe the site doesnt match to the quality of ur reviews.I hve written these from a end user perspective.Wish u best of luck!

Thank you sir, your reviews are the best! I went with the CANON...and I see you rated the Canon 88/100 vs. the Nikon at 86/100. Although they're both very similar cameras, I prefer the clean and easy to use interface of the Canon. Canon is more of the MAC of the camera world, while the Nikon would be a PC. and with graphics and? real life, I have chose the MAC so therefore it makes sense to also choose the Canon...just another reason. thanks again.

But speaking seriously here, out of many reviewers in many different fields of subjects, and including documentary films, you? definitely have a gift for achieving balance between visual and verbal communication and knowing how to deliver it. It is a masterpiece in the way you present your videos to the audience.

I must say Gordon Laing is the best and most professional I have seen in delivering a review. He doesn't 'waffle' but gets to the point and at the same time has a pleasant manner. He produces the information in a concise manner both in speech and visual presentation. He pauses between speech to make it? clear. He knows how to set up the visual presentation - he does it in detail so that he gives you close look at how the camera is gripped etc. Cameralabs should be proud of him - a rare find.

Canon's are made in Japan and Nikon's are made in Thailand. I have a T2i but I am happy that I went with Canon. Plus there? is Magic Lantern =)
